From the moment I became a mother — as in when my firstborn was still in utero — I’ve tried my best to be a mindful parent. My goal is to be thoughtful and intentional in how I teach, love and raise my children so that one day they will grow up to be thoughtful and intentional adults. I want them to be kind and confident, informed and well-educated but still humble. My hope is that they will work hard and love hard, but also value themselves fully and accept nothing less from others. So there are some daily habits I’ve been working to instill in them that I hope they’ll carry with them through the years and into adulthood — some that my own parents instilled in me and others that I developed later in life — that I think will set them up to live up to their potentials.
