Dr. Miguelina Rodriguez

Dr. Miguelina Rodriguez is an Afro-Dominicana from Brooklyn, New York. She is a certified Yoga instructor, published author, and professor of Urban Studies at LaGuardia Community college. She received her Ph.D. in Public Policy from Rutgers University, where she studied the effects of gentrification on the 2nd generation Dominican population in Washington Heights, New York. Along with her identical twin sister, Dr. Griselda Rodriguez-Solomon, she is 1/2 of Brujas of Brooklyn. Brujas of Brooklyn believe in the power of Spirit to cast spells that aid in collective healing. Their craft is specifically dedicated to womb-healing; they do so by using tools like yoga, chanting, and journaling while creating safe spaces for women to share, grow and release generations of pent us trauma. The work that they do is inspired by the 7th generation principle among Native Americans: the healing that takes place today will help to heal 7 generations before us and 7 generations after us.
