The year isn’t even over yet and we’ve already seen so many crazy, fun and interesting beauty trends roll through the internet. Some I like, some I would never do in a million years. Here’s a list of the good, the bad and the unfortunate beauty trends so far in 2017.
The wavy brow trend emerged when makeup artist Claudia Wang debuted the look on Instagram. Since then, makeup pros and amateurs have attempted the avant-garde look. It gets a ‘no’ from us, though. If your friend tells you that you look good with wavy eyebrows, she ain’t your friend girl.
I know I could have made an eyebrow category but this one deserves it’s own spot. I laughed for a solid 5 mins when I watched someone glue a braided piece of weave on to their perfectly beat eyebrow. I later came to find out it was not a joke. And if you don’t have a weave, you can always recreate this look using makeup.
This is what my little cousin looks like when she devours any type of candy. At the very least I feel like our lipstick should reflect the fact that we are not four year olds – but maybe that’s just me.
You’ve seen the amazing vids on Instagram of nail technicians rubbing a holographic powder onto some bomb acrylics. You can also buy holographic lip gloss, highlighter and eyeshadow if you’re going for the full look.
2017 has been a good year for glitter. Glitter lids, glitter hair part, glitter blush, glitter lip gloss, there is a shimmery product for every part of your body and I like it! And of course, there are glitter pits if you really want to go the extra mile.

2016’s Lip enhancement craze has continues in full force in 2017. I don’t have anything against women wanting to feel good about themselves but this is getting out of hand.
Creative Crease Cuts
I’m a fan of the crease cut, it takes a lot of skill to nail and now we’re seeing makeup artists get really creative with them.
Women and men everywhere are digging out the pastels and their Lisa Frank goodies as they’ve been enjoying the intense unicorn beauty phase. (I mean it’s not just beauty, Starbucks’ unicorn frappuccino sent people into hysteria.)
Bottom Lid Falsies
This one is just emerging and I’m kind of on the fence about it. It looks really dramatic BUT it also looks near impossible to do well. I’ll make up my mind when I see it a bit more.
Fortunately, this one isn’t real! (And least let’s hope it doesn’t become real). Makeup artist and business owner, Huda Kattan had to get in on all the crazy trends out there and let’s just hope, this is the end of it.
