On her NYE plans:

“This year we’re going to the Black & White New Year’s Ball in downtown Minneapolis. They’ll have three rooms of music, disco, dance, funk, old school, house and soul.  So’ll we’ll be dancing and drinking bubbly.  We’re empty nesters, so I do call both my kids at midnight. #tradition”

Susie Jimenez

On her typical NYE celebration at home:

“I work so much cooking for others over the holidays and I always end up wanting seafood and steak in my PJs with bubbles all night. Blasting Selena on my surround system, watching movies and doing nothing once 5pm starts. It’s always my husband and I with our pups, so a walk in the snow is always a must with a glass of champagne in our hands. But relaxing mellow night is the way to go!”

On his approach to going out on NYE:

“When going out on New Year’s Eve, I like to travel to somewhere warm. It’s always better to countdown to the new year in a tank top. Plus the crowds don’t seem as bad when it’s warm out and you’re in a new place. I spent the last two New Year’s Eves in Thailand. After the countdown it was off to some club hopping till about 6 AM! It’s fun to meet people from all over—Thailand, Europe, and even some people from Latin America.”

María Villagómez

On how she likes to spend a night in on NYE:

“When staying home, I like to relax with a glass of good wine and some small bites: good cheeses, Maria Villagomez HipLatinanuts, crackers, fruit, veggies, and meats. Definitely listen to music, lots of music (70s music and mambo/salsa). When I’m with family, we play cards, maybe a drinking game, and we try to eat 12 grapes (representing each month of the year) as a tradition for good luck for the following year.”

Josette Pagan

josette pagan hiplatinaOn her favorite hangover remedy:

“To prevent a hangover: drink a glass of water for every drink you have and before going to bed, eat 4-5 soda crackers and drink a 16 oz glass of water. The best remedies: eat a banana upon waking up to get a potassium boost, drink lots of water and a homemade ginger tea with a squeeze of orange and lemon juice.”
