Homemade Ginger Turmeric Tea Recipe


Ginger Turmeric Tea

Ingredients

  • Two to three inch piece of ginger
  • Two inch piece of turmeric
  • 8-10 whole peppercorns
  • Handful of fresh mint sprigs
  • 1 cup of cranberries (optional)
  • 5-6 cups of water
  • Cooking pot w/ top
  • Ladle
  • Sieve
  • Fresh lemon
  • Honey (optional)

Directions

  1. Add water to pot, cover, and bring to a boil.
  2. Cut the ginger and turmeric root into half inch pieces. You can leave the mint, peppercorns, and cranberries (if using) whole.
  3. Add ingredients to boiling water.
  4. Cover and reduce to a medium/low heat. Let the mixture simmer for 15-30 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. I like my tea strong so I usually simmer for at least 20 minutes if not longer.
  5. Turn off heat, get out your favorite tea cup and ladle hot tea in the cup. You can use a sieve to help keep out pieces of pepper.
  6. Add some fresh squeezed lemon and honey to taste if you would like.
