For many, prom is a monumental event in someone’s life. It can be seen as a coming-of-age moment that lives in our memories forever. That importance is why this following story is so much more emotional. A video that was posted on Twitter has captured the attention of hundreds of thousands of people.
“After not being able to walk with my own two legs for 10 months…I surprised my prom date with this…” the young woman who goes by MoMo (@aeonianlife) tweeted.
The video shows her date at the door and MoMo walks over to him. For a split second you can see that he is in complete shock and doesn’t even know what he is seeing. Once he realizes MoMo is indeed walking, he runs over to her. “How did you do that?” he asks while continuing to hug her.
Here’s the video and try not to cry — it’s basically impossible.

MoMo explains a little about what led her to this moment.
“I wasn’t born with this,” MoMo tweeted. “This happened almost a year ago. I believe God is real and is very much alive. I know I could not have done this without believing in my faith. Thank you for the support but the only reason I got to this point was because I knew God was going to get me.”

I am so so proud that you were able to accomplish this! My situation is definitely not comparable to yours, but I cant wait until my husband sees how much progress I’ve made with my own recovery.
