5 Sneakers You Will Live in This Spring

A woman’s shoe collection says a lot about her. No wonder we tend to spend a lot time perfecting our stash! I too admit it, I’m a “Shoe-Shopaholic”. I try to have a bit of everything – ankle booties, sandals, loafers, heels, boots, you name it. However, this year my main focus is to work on expanding my sneaker collection.  Regardless of your personal style, we’re all a bit of a sneakerhead deep inside. They are comfortable, give any outfit an edgy vibe, and some get extra brownie points for exclusivity (yes Yeezy fans, this is for you).

That being said, with the ever-growing trend of athleisure wear, brands everywhere are creating comfortable footwear to please every fashionista. With spring right around the corner, you’ll want to be stocked up on all the essential kicks to throw into rotation during the season and long after.

Here are the top 5 sneakers to add to your collection.

The Chunky Sneaker

Wear these comfy kicks on business casual days, to run errands, or for a chill night out. Style them with some cropped mom jeans, your favorite chunky sweater, and your designer crossbody bag. FILA Disruptor II, Urban Outfitters, $70

The Exclusive Gem

If you manage to get your hands on these underrated Yeezy’s, you’re in for a treat. Look at how Kourtney Kardashian makes a sweatsuit and trainers look chic, even inside a bodega. But don’t be fooled, these kicks are perfect to pair with buttoned-up looks as well. I recommend trying these with a co-ord patterned suit. Place your bid on StockX or test your luck on Ebay to snag these ASAP. Adidas Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas Core White, StockX, $550

The All-Time Classic

I’m sure you’ve seen these kicks make a comeback this past year. See how social media personality Evangelis transforms this glitter coordinated set with these white and black Nike Cortez. Top this ensemble with a teddy-coat for those chilly spring evenings. To add a retro vibe, opt for a classic colorway. Nike Classic Cortez, Nike, $70

The Sockboot

It is undeniable how tempting these are, especially with the minimalistic “B A L E N C I A G A” lettering perfectly placed on the edge of the shoe. They can easily be paired with just about anything you already own, but I love how Kim Duong added a street-vibe to the full look by pairing these with an oversized bomber and camo cargos.  Now, I know the price can be very intimidating, but don’t fret! If you’re not mentally prepared to drop almost a month’s rent on a pair of trainers, opt for Zara’s embellished version here, which have a similar look for a more reasonable price. Balenciaga Speed Trainers, Balenciaga, $750

The Casual Gem

If you’re missing a “go-to” shoe in your closet, I highly recommend The Old Skool Vans. They’re inexpensive, comfortable, and come in a variety of colors, including black, red, burgundy, pink, blue, and checkered. You have probably seen these all over your feed, but they’re just so easy to pair! I love wearing these with plaid trousers and an oversized jacket. However, if you’re feeling rather daring, check out the new Opening Ceremony x Vans collab, which gives you exclusive access to limited edition Old Skool Vans in leather and pattern-overload. Old Skool Vans, Vans, $60
