#TBT: 9 Latinas We Watched on American TV, 1960s -1990s

It seems more commonplace now to see Latinos on American television (although we still have a long way to go), but for decades, we were grossly underrepresented on the U.S. small screen. For this week’s #TBT, we take a look at nine Latinas who filled that space on American TV, from the ’60s to the ’90s, all the while paving the way for their counterparts today.

Jo Raquel Tejada, better known as Raquel Welch, was one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1960s and ’70s. The half Bolivian beauty appeared in a number of television shows, including Bewitched, Mork & Mindy, Seinfeld, and Saturday Night Live (as a host). Welch even had two of her own television specials, Raquel! and Really Raquel.
