“Dear Ivanka” That’s how this genius Instagram idea post begins. Nasty Gal founder and #GirlBoss author Sophia Amoruso realized that the only way the President of the United States could truly understand the magnitude and importance of the CLEAN Dream Act was to reach his daughter, Ivanka.

But perhaps Ivanka doesn’t understand why congress should pass a legislation that would protect hundreds of thousands of young undocumented people. As the ACLU puts it: “The bipartisan Dream Act would protect DACA-recipients by providing qualified undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. before the age of 18 a pathway to citizenship. To be eligible, individuals must graduate from high school or pass the GED and either attend college or enlist in the military.”

That doesn’t seem so difficult, right? So Amoruso enlisted celebrity pals that Ivanka follows and urged them to send a message to her that she could not miss.

“Every day that passes without a clean Dream Act means anxiety and deportation for immigrant youth,” Amoruso’s post reads. “7,901 youth have already lost DACA and 122 more will lose it each day.”

So on Thanksgiving, you know the day you mostly sit around and peruse your phone (especially Instagram), celebs including Cara Delevingne, Olivia Wilde, Alexa Chung Amy Schumer, and Sophia Bush took to Instagram and posted the letter.

Whether the First Daughter looked at it or not is hardly the point. The real point is that the message is out there for millions of more to see. And also, it doesn’t apply just to Ivanka, but to all of us.

Lidieth Arevalo, a filmmaker, remade the Instagram post so that all of us could post this message to all of our followers. And it worked!
