Oh, Donald Trump — he’s back at it again with ridiculous tweets and things to say even in the face of tragedy. Now that Hurricane Dorian has spared Puerto Rico — but is coming straight for Florida — the U.S. president still managed to make it about himself.

Just a couple of days ago, before Hurricane Dorian had made a drastic shift and while Puerto Ricans braced for the worst, Trump had the balls to say: “Puerto Rico is one of the most corrupt places on earth. Their political system is broken and their politicians are either Incompetent or Corrupt. Congress approved Billions of Dollars last time, more than anyplace else has ever gotten, and it is sent to Crooked Pols. No good!” he tweeted

“And by the way, I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to Puerto Rico,” Trump added in another tweet.

That’s very unlikely since Trump did next to nothing to help the people of Puerto Rico when Hurricane Maria hit about two years ago. In fact, Trump has repeatedly claimed that Congress sent $92 billion of aid to Puerto Rico when in fact data shows that the island had only received less than $14 billion.

As of Wednesday, Hurricane Dorian swept by Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, has been on track for what could possibly be a Category 3 storm in Florida when it hits there this weekend. Hurricane Dorian will likely continue to grow over the next couple of days and could threaten to make landfall in the Bahamas as early as Saturday. According to reports, even though Hurricane Dorian didn’t directly affect or hit Puerto Rico, it could still affect the island’s electrical grid.

Soon after Trump’s tweet, many folks took to social media to express their frustrations with the statement he made and we can’t agree more with what they had to say.

Singer and actor Marc Anthony has been one of Trump’s loudest critics and he has shouted his disdain for the president from the rooftops. Trump’s latest words of fury for Puerto Rico really riled the singer. Marc Anthony used Trump’s favorite social media platform to tweet: “Wow Mr. whatever you are. We all just read your DEMENTED tweet about my beloved Puerto Rico. Coming from a gruesome individual like YOU it makes perfect sense. Filled with corruption and incapable of managing a fully staffed HOUSE.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

2. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not one to mince words. She has taken on so many conservatives, including the president, and she’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind. In response to Trump’s scathing tweet about Puerto Rico, the Bronx native tweeted, “3,000 Americans died on your watch. You’re not the best thing to happen to anybody but yourself. And even that’s questionable.”

3. Ana Navarro

Political pundit and “reformed Republican,” Ana Navarro has called President Donald Trump every name in the book. Those names include — in case you’re wondering — “entitled spoiled brat,” “pathological liar,” “racist pig,” etc. But her latest choice of names is one for the books. The CNN contributor and The View co-host tweeted her response to the president saying he’s the best thing to happen to Puerto Rico: “You narcissistic boob. They are Americans bracing for a storm, while still recovering from the devastation of Maria…. FEMA needs to focus on preparation and safety. It’s not about you. Stop, just stop!”

4. San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz

Before people felt safe to call out the president on his lies and racism, there was San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz. She was a trailblazer in more ways than one. She did so on day one of Hurricane Maria and the devastation it caused Puerto Rico. Since then she has been the Island’s fiercest advocate. When Trump said he was the best thing to happen to Puerto Rico, Yulín Cruz. let him have it.

“The President has a vanity complex, he thinks everything is about him,” she said on CNN. “He’s a liar and a racist,” and added that Trump “has stolen $155 million from emergency relief money to build his wall.” ALL FACTS.

5. Former U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez

Now that former U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez is no longer serving as a political representative, he has moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico full time and he wasn’t too thrilled to see that the president was once again disrespecting the people and the island. He went on CNN to tell Chris Cuomo that if anyone is corrupt, it is Trump himself.

Gutierrez also spoke about how democratic and nonviolent Puerto Ricans went about ousting former Governor Ricardo Rosselló. Puerto Ricans said “you’re fired” to Rosselló and that was that. Yet those on the mainland are still putting up with Trump’s corrupt ways.

We hope Trump learns his lesson, but we highly doubt he will.
