5 Cleansers You Should Try: From Sensitive to Oily Skin
Removing makeup at the end of the day is one of my favorite nighttime rituals
Removing makeup at the end of the day is one of my favorite nighttime rituals. During the day, our skin is exposed to toxins found in the air along with dirt and oil buildup. There are certain criteria I look for in a good cleanser: gentle without dying or irritating the skin. Out of all of the beauty products I review, cleansers are what I enjoy testing the most. Here are five recommended cleansers that I love and have repurchased:
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
This whipped cleanser is effective and gentle on the skin. Free of parabens and harsh chemicals, it removes makeup and impurities leaving the face feeling clean and nourished. I splash water on my face and begin to massage the cleanser into the skin and quickly breaks down my makeup. Not effective on waterproof mascara, (few cleansers are) it never leaves my skin feeling stripped. It works well on my sensitive skin.
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Yes, yes, yes! This is my go-to, foolproof beauty product. A lard-like texture, this cleanser takes off all makeup gently and effectively. I warm up the product in the palm of my hand and begin working it into my face and neck. This cleanser turns into a milky oil that removes the toughest makeup and dirt. Using this balm turns into a luxurious experience/mini facial. I remove with a damp cloth or by splashing water on my face and removing with muslin cloth.
Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser
This rinse-off cleansing balm is packed with carrot, Egyptian chamomile, and eucalyptus oils. As the name suggests, this cleanser works well in the morning. It’s not suited to remove makeup and will not get the job done, but it provides the right amount of moisture your skin needs in the morning. As our body temperature increases while we sleep, we often wake up feeling dehydrated. For this reason, I drink water throughout the evening and as soon as I wake up. The Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser makes my skin look plump and healthy, perfect for a flawless makeup application.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
Rich in amino acids and soy proteins, the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is gentle and smells of cucumbers. The cucumber helps calm any redness and soothes aggravated skin. I find this cleanser works great when I’m experiencing cystic hormonal breakouts. It is a gel consistency and effectively removes makeup but find myself using this more to cleanse than to remove makeup. Free of parabens and ideal for all skin types, I recommend this product to anyone. My skin loves this cleanser!
Nude Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly
This natural cleanser has a gel consistency with sunflower and annatto seed oil and extracts. Once massaged into the skin, it turns into a milky balm that melts away dirt and makeup. It provides the nutrition your skin needs without drying dehydrated/dry skin and stripping oily or combination skin. I had a misconception that people with oily skin, like myself, needed a cleanser that would halt or remove natural oils found in the skin. After doing my fare share of research, I found that using gentle cleansers provides nourishment and can neutralize oil production.
