7 Reasons the Grammys Were Basically Cardi B’s Quinceañera

Cardi B won the Grammy’s despite not winning one award. The Bronx rap star was nominated for two Grammy’s and despite not winning either for Best Rap Song or Best Rap Performance, Cardi B owned the Grammy’s. This award show was basically Cardi B’s night to shine. She broke into the scene in 2017, first as the breakout star of “Love & Hip Hop” and then with the release of her hit single “Bodak Yellow.” So the Grammy’s could be seen as Cardi’s pinnacle moment of the year. Cardi B took centerstage like the quinceañera queen she was born to be.

Despite winning 2017 in every way possible, Cardi B isn’t changing her unfiltered self. She’s still saying the most random things, and we love her for it!

Cardi was asked if she “had a message for young girls out there who want to succeed in the music industry.” Her response: “Do whatever you have to do. People always want to tell you how to do it. No, do it your way. And don’t ask for like oh how can you do it … do it, figure it out. I figured it out one way or another and I did it.”

The evening also included a performance by U2, which naturally meant that the legendary rock band would somehow make their way towards Cardi B.

We’re not sure how this happened, but Bono got to Cardi and it was magical.

“Oh my God I got a f—king note from Bono,” Cardi said as she flipped out over the fact the U2’s Bono knew who she was. “This is f—king Bono. He f—king knows me. I can’t believe it I can’t motherf—in’ believe it.”
