Christina Aguilera Hilariously Teaches How to Be a Diva On “Carpool Karaoke”

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard and seen Christina Aguilera belt it out. While the singer has been completely MIA — she has been on “The Voice” off and on — we honestly have missed her and didn’t realize it until now. The Latina star appeared on a segment of “The Late, Late Show” Carpool Karaoke alongside James Corden and hit it out of the ballpark.

The pair sang a couple of her hits including “Fighter” and “Dirrty.” One of the best and funniest parts of the segment came when Aguilera was doing her thing — you know, vocalizing in her signature way — and Corden asked “How are you doing that with your voice?”

“That’s an angsty thing, you’ve got to get your fighter on, you need to get angry,” she replied. The Corden said: “It’s like I’ve got something trapped in my throat.”

The Melissa McCarthy— like out of nowhere — popped up in the back seat and joined the duet to sing “Genie in a Bottle.”

“I feel like Melissa and I, in our heads, we feel like we could be divas? But we need someone to teach us the true technique,” Corden said. So he surprised Christina and the rest of the crew with diva microphones and she showed them how it’s done.

Christina did reveal some cute insight on her time as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club back in the day alongside notables Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling.

“Could you find yourself getting lost in Ryan Gosling’s eyes?” Corden asked. “I think there were crushes but I… I wasn’t on the train,” Christina said. “Were you on the Timberlake train?” Corden pressed. “Um, I think, there was like a… me and Britney… well now you know there was a thing back then.. it was a good time” she said, adding that “He had swag. Back then he had swag.” But the best revelation of this conversation came when she said that “I know Ryan did have a crush on Britney. I think so.” OMG

We are so happy to have Christina back in the limelight, and we’ll be seeing more of her too. She’s going to be in a new film with Ewan McGregor called Zoe in which she plays a sex robot. Can’t wait to see that.
