Is Lin-Manuel Miranda in “The Rise of Skywalker”?

Lin-Manuel Miranda is going intergalactic or at least that’s what the latest promo for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker makes it seem like. The roughly two-minute video promoting the upcoming film showcases the cultural impact of the series with references made through the years and glimpse of Miranda dressed as a Resistance fighter along with Naomi Ackie (portraying newcomer Jannah in the film). Though fans quickly took to Twitter to discuss the possibility of the Puerto Rican star having a role in the film, a rep for Disney quickly responded to the speculation via Entertainment Weekly. Neither Miranda or {Ed] Sheeran [who is also in the trailer] is confirmed to appear in the new film and noted the footage is from “fan events over the years.”

Miranda also responded to a tweet with a screenshot from the video saying, “I went to visit the set on a day off from Wales and JJ [Abrams] threw me in a costume…” he said on Twitter. “One of the best days of my life to watch the magic happen but I’m pretty sure I’m not in it.”

Though the statement doesn’t confirm he’ll be a part of the film, it also doesn’t deny it so keep your eyes peeled when the film opens Dec. 20. The Rise of Skywalker is the final installment in the Skywalker Saga, with The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams returning for this film. He and Miranda previously worked on the soundtrack for The Force Awakens for the rap track “Jabba Flow” for the cantina scene.

Miranda and Abrams performed together outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre for #Ham4Ham, a weekly sidewalk show where Hamilton was playing, in honor of May 4 as the unofficial Star Wars Day. Miranda shared that the song’s lyrics are in Jabba the Hutt’s native language and called it a “Shaggy intergalactic remake” referring to the famous track “It Wasn’t Me.”

“Knowing the man, experiencing his exuberance and dazzle up close, is as delightful as the show itself. His wit would be intimidating if not for his natural and infectious charm. Somehow he is as generous, collaborative and lovable as he is innovative and brilliant,” Abrams wrote in TIME about Miranda after the songwriter/actor was included in the magazine 100 list for 2016.

In the meantime, Miranda can be seen in the HBO series His Dark Materials and the movie adaptation of his first Broadway hit In The Heights comes out next year. He also revived his hip-hop improvisational show Freestyle Love Supreme for an off-Broadway run and he’s making his directorial debut with the new adaption of Jonathan Larson’s Tick, Tick… Boom.
