Do not mess with Bronx-born, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Puerto Rican New York Democratic congressional candidate recently tore up a conservative TV host who tweeted a picture of her childhood, while inaccurately trying to discredit her. Oh did she put him in his place!

Host of Newsmax’s America Talks Live thought it would be cute to share a picture of the home where Ocasio-Cortez grew up in on Twitter. He tweeted the Yorktown Heights home, claiming that she lived there until she went on to attend Brown University. In other words, he was trying to make it seem like Ocasio-Cortez had a really nice, upper middle class upbringing. Now here’s where it gets good!

Apparently Cardillo didn’t do his fact checking. The Hill points out that according to Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign site, she actually went to Boston University—not Brown. She did grow up in the Bronx’s Parkchester apartments but the family then moved to Yorktown Heights when she was 5, in efforts to get her into a better public school. Her tweet backs to Cardillo were everything.

3. Your attempt to strip me of my family, my story, my home, and my identity is exemplary of how scared you are of the power of all four of those things.

Cardillo fired back tweeting: “I stand corrected. That said, you’re not a ‘girl from the Bronx.'”

Earlier version of this story misidentified your alma mater as Brown @Ocasio2018.

I stand corrected.

That said, you’re not a “girl from the Bronx.”https://t.co/6H5VR9G3P0 https://t.co/NCIg4ildzF

Cardillo seems to be a lot like Trump in that he really doesn’t do any research before getting on Twitter because if he did, he’d know that Ocasio-Cortez actually moved back to the Bronx after college.

He’s also not letting this down though.

Shortly after all this, Cardillo tweeted about inviting Ocasio-Cortez to come on his show for a “respectful debate.” Yesterday he continued to post pictures of lavish homes he claims are in Yorktown Heights. “Sure her house was small, but to claim it’s not an affluent area is dishonest,” he tweeted. “To claim it’s similar to the Bronx is ridiculous.”

I grew up in NYC. Had friends from Yorktown Heights where @Ocasio2018 grew up. Been there many times.

Sure, her house was small, but to claim it’s not an affluent area is dishonest. To claim it’s similar to the Bronx is ridiculous.

Fortunately, Ocasio-Cortez’s brother went in which later lead to a series of new memes making fun of Cardillo’s ridiculous tweets.

I owned & sold that home. It’s less than 1,000 sq.ft… 3 small bedrooms & 1 bathroom for 5 people. (5 w/o family). Terrible winter drafts, leaky roof, etc. I watched my parents skip dinner so we could eat. Don’t even try it.
