Barbie reveals 2025 Dia de Muertos Barbie and Ken Dolls
Mattel revealed this year's Barbie and Ken doll inspired by the holiday

Every year ahead of Día de Muertos, Mattel unveils a Barbie and Ken doll designed to honor the beloved November holiday of remembrance and its traditions. This week, Barbie just revealed its 2025 Día de Muertos Barbie and Ken dolls, and they feature bold calavera face paint and colorful designs that honor the iconic cempasúchil flower and its significance and symbolism in the holiday’s celebrations. Designed by Ari Sarinana, both dolls are pictured in a Día de Muertos outdoor altar-like setting and feature vibrant calavera-style makeup and cempasúchil details on their outfits.
The 2025 Día de Muertos Barbie wears a white multi-tiered gown with yellow, orange, and pink ribbon details and sheer tulle sleeves. The detailed gown also features embroidered cempasúchil flowers on the bodice and gold lace embroidery on each of the skirt’s tiers. The Barbie’s look is pulled together with a matching cempasúchil headpiece, big heart-shaped gold earrings featuring a skull design, and a stack of ornate gold necklaces.
The 2025 Día de Muertos Ken doll wears a white dress shirt with cempasúchil details on the collar and sleeves paired with a brown vest and pants with gold accents. The doll also wears a brown sombrero with gold stitching and skull details, a pink bowtie, and an ornate gold belt to pull the look together.
The 2025 Día de Muertos dolls were designed to reflect the traditions of the holiday and pay homage to the cempasúchil, which is believed to guide spirits back to the world of the living on Día de Muertos. The packaging, designed by Lead Brand Creative and Packaging Designer for Monster High, Mattel Creations, and Barbie brands Charis Ceniseroz, pictures both of the dolls in an ofrenda setting and features more details on Día de Muertos. In the caption of the Instagram post announcing the dolls, the Barbie account wrote:
“The past meets the present every year on Día de Muertos, when families gather to celebrate their loved ones in honor of the Mexican festival of remembrance. Ahead of the holiday, we’re proud to reveal the 2025 Día de Muertos Barbie and Ken dolls to bring a touch of tradition to your family ofrenda.”
The dolls, both $81, can now be purchased from Mattel Creations through their website and other retailers including Target and Walmart.
