Beyoncé Jumped On J Balvin’s ‘Mi Gente’ and People Are Going Crazy
If you’ve been following the situation in Puerto Rico, you know things have been very depressing lately
If you’ve been following the situation in Puerto Rico, you know things have been very depressing lately. The island is in desperate need for help after being dramatically hit by Hurricane Maria, leaving the entire island without power and resources like gas, water, food, and medical supplies are scarce. The federal response has been slow and disappointing (to say the least). To be frank: Puerto Rico needs all the help it can get!
Puerto Rican stars like Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are donating big bucks, but it’s also the response from our non-Puerto Rican brothers and sisters that’s shown humanity at its finest. Jay-Z donated a plane for Fat Joe to take donations to Puerto Rico. For her part, Jay’s better half, Beyoncé has hopped on J Balvin’s “Mi Gente” and will donate her proceeds generated from the song to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Mexico and other affected Caribbean islands. Considering the response the song has garnered on social media in less than 24 hours, that number will hopefully be huge! So after what’s been a grim week for all of those following Puerto Rico and the other areas hit hard by the recent natural disasters, here are some responses to Beyoncé’s feature on J Balvin’s song that will brighten your mood for a bit.
From the moment we heard it – we were all shook.

Very important: Let’s not have a “Despacito” 2.0 issue. “Mi Gente” was already a hit song. Let’s keep the love going for this remix, but let’s also make sure we don’t forget Balvin created a banger.
Im hyped Beyonce is singing in Spanish. BUT I want no Slander "Mi Gente" was a bop before she was on it. This is not Despacito again.
