Dominican Style Blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez Battling Cancer With Beauty and Grace

Fashion blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez has been gracing us with her beauty for a couple of years now. In that short time, her presence on social media has grown considerably (she has 319k followers on Instagram!). It’s no surprise she has a huge reach because she has impeccable style and is always 100 percent authentic. That is why her cancer diagnosis that came last year was a huge blow to a fashion community that has watched her grow.
As New York Fashion Week is under way, Kyrzayda wanted to be there, but her illness wouldn’t let her. “A few days before NYFW, and I still haven’t decided if I’m attending this year, I do have my wardrobe ready just in case…. I’m going to share a few of my fav street style looks over my experiences. If it’s your first time attending Fashion Week; enjoy it to the max, really network, and don’t be afraid to be yourself. Remember it’s not about being everywhere but creating a special milestone in your life.”
Now the fashion community that has always been there for her is showing her love by using the hashtag #youinspireuskyrzayda during fashion week. Fans are posting their fashionable takes, and sharing how much Kyrzayda means to them.
“Kyrzayda and I met a few years ago and instantly connected,” fellow fashion blogger Johnnybell Sanchez said on Instagram. “I fell in love with her bubbly energy and the way she carried herself with confidence effortlessly. I also loved seeing a fellow Dominican doing great things in this industry.”
“This post is inspired by our dear friend @kyrzayda_ she has always been the hardest working woman in the room,” Rosanna said on IG. “Through out the years #YouInspireUsKyrzayda with your love, kindness and work ethic, no matter the day, time and location you said “do your pictures guys and have fun later” we want you to know Kyr that we value your friendship and the lessons you have taught us all. Thank you! We Love you.”
Last year, Kyrzayda shared that she had fallen ill saying: “I listened to my body last night because something wasn’t right. I was admitted into the hospital and now they are running some tests. What I thought was bloating ended up being fluid in my lungs & stomach. I had to cancel my trip to L.A .. This is reality guys appreciate life, your health, & the people around you.”
Then just a couple of days later, she said she had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
“This beautiful platform I shared with each and one you guys has open so many opportunities for me. I have met so many wonderful people. I have grown into a businesswoman,” Kyrzayda said. “Most importantly I proved to myself that with hard work anything is possible. I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me. I’m so humbled. Here is a little updated. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with stomach Cancer. I still don’t know how to wrap my head around all this info. I know God will guide me but guys this has been the toughest challenge. I have learned so much this week … that kindness is stronger than anything, than your past and your mistakes.”
Kyrzayda is currently in the hospital.
