On Saturday, CurlFest took place in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for the fourth consecutive year and the pictures are giving us so much life!
If you’re not familiar this CurlFest, the Curly Girl Collective — organizers of this event — state on their website that they are “an experiential marketing group that specializes in multicultural beauty. Our events find unique ways to connect the latest products and brands to our network of fans and influencers, and create fun spaces for women of color to celebrate their natural beauty.”
This seems to have been their largest event yet!
The celebration is truly a time to rejoice natural curly hair. People partook in panels, vendor expos, food, music and lots of fun.
Curly Fest isn’t exclusive to women only, but open to men too!
Photographer Marissa Nicole Pina wrote about her experience at CurlyFest on Facebook and said: “Going to #curlfest2017 this weekend was so inspiring. Being surrounded by so many men and women who embrace their natural hair and natural textures was so beautiful. As someone who’s been on her own journey for more than a year now, it’s just so great to FINALLY be empowered and encouraged to be truly YOU. I also met so many lovely people and for that, I am grateful.”
