Daycare Waxes Toddlers Eyebrows Without Mother’s Permission

Most of us assume that children are safe when they’re dropped off at daycare — or any school for that matter. Sadly, our reality today is  we place our trust at the hands of the caretakers at schools, hoping they will do what is best for every child regardless of the situation. Alyssa Salgado, a single mother of 2-year-old, dropped of her daughter at a daycare like usual. However when she picked her up, she noticed something very different about her daughter. She quickly realized that someone at the daycare waxed off the center portion of her daughter’s eyebrows in order to remove the unibrow.

In a public Facebook post, Alyssa wrote:

“I take my daughter to the CBC Daycare to be cared for while I’m at school trying to focus on graduating! Then I go pick up my daughter yesterday and saw a red mark in between her eye brows I think it’s a scratch but as soon as a get home I get a closer look these WOMEN decided to WAX MY DAUGHTERS uni brow. I immediately started to contact the director of the day care in many texts she tried to come up with multiple excuses then this morning I take my daughter in person to the director. She laughs in my face telling me a bunch of lies and I do get upset!!! I AM A MOTHER NOTHING LIKE THIS SHOULD EVER HAPPEN AND THEY HAD NO RIGHT TO TOUCH MY DAUGHTER AT ALL. I birthed my daughter and love every little thing about her and these so called women took it upon themselves to correct the way my daughter should look not only that it happen to another mother’s son Glenda Maria Cruz. #boysandgirlsclub #kepractionnews#pascopd #pascoSchoolDistrict I will not let this get unnoticed. I would like this to get out, imagine if this was your son or daughter and if they were waxing them imagine how much pain you would be in…. I can imagine her calling out mommy and I wasn’t there to protect her I failed her. But I refuse to let this go unnoticed!!!”

The audacity of these so-called caretakers to take it upon themselves and “correct” something that needs not be.

According to NBC News, officials with “the Boys & Girls Club and the Washington Department of Early Learning confirmed they are investigating.”
