We are very sad to report that fashion blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez has passed away. The Dominicana had been fighting stomach cancer for almost a year and died earlier today. A few days ago, we learned that she wasn’t even able to attend Fashion Week this week due to her deteriorating health. As a result, fashion bloggers and fans started using the hashtag #youinspireuskyrzayda, created by Miami fashion blogger, Daniela Ramirez also known (a.ka. @nany), in efforts to honor Rodriguez during her absence at Fashion Week. But today Instagram is flooded with tribute posts dedicated to Rodriguez and confirming her passing.

For all those who knew my cousin @kyrzayda_, you knew she was battling stage 4 cancer. Sadly, today she lost that battle,” her cousin Maria (a.k.a @addictedtowick2) shared on Instagram a few hours ago today. “She was a warrior that was full of life. She fought hard till the very end. She was our little warrior and now she will be our little angel. She was a beautiful person, in and out and our family dynamic will never be the same. This is very devastating to our family and we thank you for all the immense support you have all given us. We will keep you updated as far as the arrangements go. Now you will be in heaven with all the fashion Gods and no longer suffering.”

Rodriguez’s good friend Geraldine Torres also confirmed her passing on Instagram.

“My queen, my friend, my lama lover. My favorite person to bicker with, my sweet angel now in heaven. I will miss you with all my heart with all my soul. I can’t even explain to you the loss I’m feeling without you here. I can’t even begin to think what I’m to do moving forward without you just a phone call away. All these memories of our time together are passing through my mind, so many favorites. Why lord why so little time, I wanted a lifetime more of friendship so much we wanted to do so many places she wanted to see. I will always think of you babe and I will always cherish your light in my life. I will always love you and never forget you. May you Rest in Peace Kyrz. Te quiero.”

Torres also asked that others respect her privacy during this very difficult time.

“I ask of everyone who loved Kyrzayda the way I do to please respect my privacy and her families. We are mourning the terrible loss we are facing and all I want is for everyone to remember all the greatness that Kyrz brought into this world. Take all the Inso and all the knowledge she left us. Let’s remember our sweet angel for who she has been to each and everyone of us.”

A number of friends, fans, and fellow bloggers have since paid their respects to Rodriguez with beautiful and moving Instagram posts.

And an official confirmation of her her death was posted to her Instagram hours later.

She was an inspiration not just to those in the fashion blogger world, but to many. Not only did she show how far you can go when you follow your passion and your dreams, but Rodriguez proved she was a fighter. She fought until her final days. In fact, just a few days ago she posted an Instagram live of herself at the hospital thanking her fans for the #youinspireuskryzayda and all their love and support. She was visibly tired and out of breath during the live but still made a point to still connect with her fans and followers regardless. She lived a life of love, optimism and gratitude an it left a big impression on many.

This Dominicana will never be forgotten. Let’s honor the legacy she left behind by giving thanks everyday for the little things in life like health, family, friends, and love ones.

Our thoughts and prayers go to Rodriguez’s family and close friends.
