One of the easiest ways to partake in the latest trends is by rocking the on-trend colors of the season or year. Pantone releases a collection of hues that will be big, as well as showcasing colors fashion designers will send down the runways in cities like New York and London each season. There’s also what designers decide to show and what the streets are saying is in. Since there are usually a handful of neutrals and recognizable hues, there’s a chance you already have some of these colors in your closet. There are also those shades that you don’t currently own but definitely can’t wait to try out. But if you don’t have to splurge, have fun with trendy colors with a bold lipstick or accessory that stays within your budget.

Here, we rounded up 15 colors that are on-trend for 2019. Some are from the Spring/Summer ’19 season, which means you are probably seeing these everywhere, while others are from Fall/Winter going into 2020. We also included fun buys in each hue, and where to get them. Check them out and have fun while adding new colors to your wardrobe!

Pink Peacock

The first color that we are looking at, that will be a major color this year, is Pink Peacock. There’s a good chance you have something in your closet in this shade, or at least close to it. Pink Peacock is similar to hot pink, but a tad bit darker. Pantone describes it as “tantalizingly theatrical,” and we totally agree! A pair of pants in this vibrant color can definitely take your outfit to the next level while also making a great fashion statement.

Toffee

It’s important to make sure you have a fair share of neutrals in your closet. While there are neutrals that are easily accessible to the masses — think black, gray, white, and beige — there are also those neutrals that offer a little more than the norm. Toffee is a perfect example of this. The Spring/Summer 2019 color, seen at NYFW, is a warm brown that makes you think of decadent sweets.

Aspen Gold

Another great shade from Pantone Colors of the Year is Aspen Gold. It’s a vibrant color that will really grab attention when worn during the summer — it gives off instant sunshine vibes. Like the other bright colors on this list, you can go for a small pop, or go all out. We found this super cute sunny jumpsuit from Forever 21 for those who want to do the latter.

Princess Blue

Princess Blue is very similar in color to other cobalt-like hues that Pantone has previously chosen as Colors of the Year like Lapis Blue, Royal Blue, and Bright Cobalt. A top worn in this vibrant shade is a great way to add a bold touch to a work suit. It’s also an easy but stylish way to dress up a pair of casual jeans.

Guacamole

We were stoked to include an on-trend color called Avocado. It’s one of the big colors for Fall/Winter 2019 and will give a nice warm wash of color against all the dark neutrals you normally wear when it gets colder, like brown, navy, black, brown, and grey. A great way to sample this trendy hue is with a rich eyeshadow.

Chicory Coffee

If you’re a fan of browns, you’ll love this chicory coffee color. This espresso tone is essentally a warm dark brown neutral that works all year round — in the warm and cold months! But we especially love it with a fall or winter ensemble.

Eclipse

We live for colors that are bit different from the shades we’re normally accustomed to seeing, like Eclipse. It’s dark blue, but not exactly navy. It falls more under the category of a moody, inky blue a shade or so darker. That addition of a bit of black to this blue gives it an elegant touch in an almost a goth-like way. This would be a great color to stock up on, to act as your wardrobe’s moodier version of nautical navy blue.

Terrarium Moss

For Spring/Summer, one of the on-trend greens is Terrarium Moss, although this is a color that would also look fabulous for fall and winter. It’s a warm color from nature that makes for a good alternative neutral, when you tire of the regular rotation. Living Coral

Living Coral is the Pantone Color of the Year, so you’ve probably seen the color everywhere, in all different versions. One that will be worth investing in is the Autumn/Winter iteration of the hue, called Peach Pink. It’s a refreshing change of pace for end-of-the-year colors and is so soothing and flattering, you will want to wear it starting now!

Soybean

Just because a color is neutral, doesn’t mean it has to be boring or predictable. Soybean, a warm beige meant to look like the East Asian legume, just looks elegant and luxe. This hue would look great paired with Toffee or Chicory Coffee!

Biking Red

Red is such a fun color, partly because there are so many shades, each having its own mood. Did we mention that there are a lot of on-trend reds for Fall/Winter 2019? Biking Red is light enough to not disappear into the darkness like other super dark reds but dark enough to have a sophisticated edge. It’s an on-trend color for Fall/Winter 2019/2020 that we’re pretty excited about.

Clearwater Blue

Another pretty color that is big for spring and summer of this year is what they call a clearwater blue. This is pretty much a baby blue, which is so soothing and approachable. The runways featured it a lot from head to toe, but of course, you can choose how much of this ethereal color to implement into your outfits!

Sugar Almond

Sugar Almond is definitely one of the coolest colors of the year. It’s a rich and vibrant neutral with red brick tones. If you have cognac or rust-colored boots, you probably have a match for this gorgeous hue. If not, check out these amazing boots on Amazon!

J. Adams Arlo Western Bootie, in Tan Pu, available at amazon.com, $32.50

Eden

Eden is another fall and winter color I’m so looking forward to wearing this year. Dark green is a usual go-to but Eden has a certain moodiness to it that we also see with Biking Red. It has a touch of grey, making it a more toned-down option for the holidays. You can always decorate with Biking Red and Eden for something more chic and unique!

Sweet Lilac

Pretty pastels have been in style for several seasons, so it’s no surprise that Sweet Lilac is a top color for Spring/Summer 2019. Sweet Lilac is the perfect meeting point between pink and lavender. It’s flattering, feminine, and very ’80s in the best way possible.
