Every week, we find the style standouts on Instagram and share them, in a segment we like to call HipLatina Style. This week’s fashion picks are starting the new year looking extra fly. Want to be featured in the coming weeks? Don’t forget to hashtag your fashion photos #HipLatinaStyle!
Classic, With a Pop of Color
A classic outfit is always more fun with a pop of color. A camel Burberry coat, stripes, and shredded cropped flares (which bring a modern touch) are elevated with a crimson sweater and ankle boots. Did we mention that her chic looks are also thrifted?!
Here for the Drama
Self proclaimed curl enthusiast @curlyjojo__ looks regal, and brings the right kind of drama (fashion drama, that is), with a goregous headwrap, furry sweatshirt, and standout jewelry. Check out her Instagram to see her beautiful curls!
Fierce Like Frida
A bold message, and equally bold earrings, take this outfit from casual to amazing. We all want to be fierce like Frida, so we’re loving this VIVA LA BONITA tee on blogger Zarina Citlali.
An Iridescent 2018
It’s always great to ring in the new year in a shimmering way. Blogger Amy Ortiz wore the prettiest iridescent dress, with she anchored with a black moto jacket, tights, shoes, and bags. The pastel earrings pick up one of the colors in the dress and adds to the overall balance of pretty and edgy.
Not only did singer/songwriter Vanessa Ayala slay the fashion game in this sexy athleisure outfit, but she also painted all the art behind her. Boss move.
Blogger Brittany Puerto’s room may be in disarray after a photo shoot, but her outfit is right on point. The fun, chunky pink sweater is perfect for a chilly day in Houston, and it goes great with streamlined, ripped denim and neutral heels.
This sleek look is perfect on its own, but gets elevated with the addition of a classic Gucci belt and Chanel pin. Check out Lorraine’s Instagram to see the fabulous jewelry she makes under the brand EST1984Jewelry!
Textures on Textures on Textures
A variety of textures can help take any look to the next level. Edgy lets her fanastic curls loose, and doesn’t let the cold keep her from creating a fashionable outfit. A black teddy bear-like jacket is layered over a chenille crop-top sweater, and finished with shiny, patent leather leggings, for an ensemble that is very ’90s and very stylish.
In addition to mixing textures, mixing prints is the mark of an experienced fashionista. Treat leopard as a neutral, like blogger Tayra Keshinover did, and mix it with stripes, and other alternative neutrals (like olive green and cognac) for a chic result.
Nurse and blogger Stevie nailed the preppy look with a plaid blanket scarf, cozy beige sweater, and jeans tucked into brown riding boots. It’s an outfit that looks both effortless but also very polished.
