Lola’s POV: Looking For Some Summer Jams?

I know I’m not the only one out there who is like this. I sometimes feel like life is a movie, and I have a soundtrack and song for every moment of my life. Literally. I have my shower songs, a morning playlist, a driving playlist, a sad playlist, an angry playlist, a playlist for when I feel sexy and last but not least—heaps of new rap and tons of 90’s hip-hop.

My musical taste ranges from the sweet and spicy sounds of the Caribbean with Celia Cruz to the mellow vibes of Lady Antebellum. But my summer playlist (yes, I have that too) is a bit hotter. A spicy mix where we get that clapping, and foot tapping rhythm from “Quimbara” but we also get the combo of “caderas y nalgas” swaying side to side with “Calypso.” All I know is that this playlist will make you feel as if you were spending your summer here in Puerto Rico. Whether you’re stuck in the office, or burning some calories at the gym, this playlist will transport you to Old San Juan on a late Saturday Night, at Santurce’s famous La Placita, or at the beach in Isla Verde.
