Old Video Resurfaces Of Donald Trump Saying Wall Shouldn’t Be A Barrier
President Donald Trump has been clear from day one: we need a wall to stop illegal immigration
President Donald Trump has been clear from day one: we need a wall to stop illegal immigration. He’s so insistent on the wall, we’re going just two days away from a record-breaking government shutdown. Through it all, Trump declares a wall, now a steel wall and not a concrete wall, will keep undocumented immigrants from coming into the U.S., but does he truly think that?
“The Daily Show,” hosted by Trevor Noah, uncovered an old commencement speech in which the president told a bunch of graduates that they should persevere no matter what.
“Don’t give up,” the president said. “Don’t allow it to happen. If there’s a concrete wall in front of you, go through it, go over it, go around it, but get to the other side of that wall.” In other words, a wall cannot and shouldn’t stop you from doing what you need to do to get ahead in life.
Here’s a clip from the 2004 video from Wagner College located in Staten Island.
The irony is hilarious!!
Did the president hear his old remarks making him shift from a concrete wall to a steal wall?
Noah tweeted: “Oh man, once Trump gets his wall he better hope no one shows Mexico this old video we found.”
As the Huffington Post notes, Trump was awarded an honorary degree by Wagner University, though 33 professors there (along with 700 alumni) have asked officials to rescind the degree.
The comments on the video are as hilarious as the video itself: DAnn Fercharles said on Facebook: “This appears to have been before the dementia fully set in. That’s a coherent sentence.” Zina Katovich posted: “That’s why you don’t waste billions of dollars of taxpayer money on a wall. You can go through it, around it, and over it. What a waste of time and money this temper tantrum is.”
Too funny!
