International pop star Selena Gomez officially announced on Instagram that her first ever full-length Spanish album will drop on March 12. The announcement comes just days after Selena who is of Mexican descent released a Spanish language single titled, “De Una Vez,” which was inspired by the legendary Tejana singer Selena Quintanilla. The album is called “Revelación,” and while only a few details have been released so far, we do know that other Latinx artists including Tainy and Rauw Alejandro contributed to the project.

In addition to the ballad “De Una Vez” which was released on January 14, the second single from the album, “Baila Conmigo” a dance Latin pop track with Rauw was released today, along with the accompanying video.

After releasing the first single from the album, Selena – who has always been vocal about the pride she feels in her heritage – said that she’s been wanting to work on a Spanish album for a number of years and told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “I actually think I sing better in Spanish. That was something I discovered. It was a lot of work, and look, you cannot mispronounce anything. It is something that needed to be precise, and needed to be respected by the audience I’m going to release this for.”

Not only is Selena singing the entire album in Spanish, but she’s been promoting it in Spanish first on social media, with the English translation of her posts following, seemingly making a firm statement on who her target audience is since she initially announced the album.

“This is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to explore for so long. I hope you love it as much as I do,” Selena wrote on Instagram when she released “De Una Vez,” though no one realized at the time that the full-length Spanish album would be coming so soon. Since the singer has released Spanish songs like “Un Año Sin Lluvia” and “Taki Taki” in the past, it wasn’t yet evident that the latest track wasn’t just another one off.

Since then, Selena has gone on to flood her social media feeds with posts promoting both singles as well as the full album, even posting a TikTok dance video to “Baila Conmigo” and showing off new merchandise that’s being released in conjunction with the album.
