The White House Is Celebrating ICE Agents With A “Heroes” Event

For some bizarre reason, the Trump Administration thinks it’s a great time to honor the service people of this country. Now don’t get us wrong, we respect and salute the military for defending the people of America — but not if it’s going to cost millions, $92 millon to be exact. Yes, President Donald Trump wanted to host some kind of wannabe military parade in D.C. — but really trying to emulate France — later this year. Thankfully that’s being postponed. Gee, I wonder why.
However, now there’s reports that Trump wants to praise the work of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). You know, those men and women, who were instructed to separate families at border — at least 600 remain separated — and have been tearing families apart since their inception in 2003.
On Aug. 20, the Trump Administration will host “Salute to the Heroes of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs [and] Border Protection” in the White House, Politico reports. They sure picked the perfect timing.

“Only this White House would give medals for taking thousands of immigrant children from their parents, and continuing to detain hundreds of orphaned kids in defiance of a court order,” Tom Jawetz, vice president for immigration policy at the left-leaning Center for American Progress, told Politico.
Who exactly is going to show up for this, aside from the ICE agents and White House flunkies? This Administration is doing a fine job at deflecting from the FBI investigation against Trump, and perhaps they’re also trying to downplay the fact that there’s an abolish ICE movement going on right now.
Nice try Trumpees, this celebration isn’t going to do squat except fuel anger at those upset with the president, his administration, and the frivolous way they are using their resources where it should be going to more important matters.
