When it comes to her life off screen, Gina Rodriguez is having a moment. The newly married woman is on a high note personally. When it comes to acting, she’s hitting her stride with back-to-back projects including our favorite Netflix’s Someone Great and Carmen Sandiego. And, when it comes to producing, the girl is unstoppable — so it’s safe to say Rodriguez is living the life right now.

Her production company, I Can and I Will, is backing a new project, and it’s heading to the new streaming service Disney+. The show, titled Diary of a Female President, is a comedy series that is written by Illana Peña who’s previous work includes writing for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The show, according to NBC News, centers around a 12-year-old Cuban-American girl as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States. While there’s no air date just yet for this 30-minute series, Deadline reports that the Disney+ will launch later this year.

Rodriguez’s production house is backing up several projects including Carmen Sandiego, Jane the Novela, a spin-off to her show, and Something Great. In 2017, CBS announced that they were teaming up with Rodriguez and her company to bring to life a slew of her projects. Now we are seeing the fruits of her labor become a reality.

According to her company, I Can and I Will Production, their mission is “create art that tells stories from the unheard and unseen, discover and expose new talent and increases empathy and understanding for all communities. We believe that by breaking societal norms on screen, we can use art to create tolerance.”

Disney+ also announced shows that they’ll be airing exclusively including Star Wars live-action shows The Mandalorian, High School Musical, a show based on the film High Fidelity, and also, according to NBC News, “multiple limited series based on characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
