Cardi B Files for Divorce from Offset After Cheating Allegations
Cardi B, 27, filed for divorce at an Atlanta courthouse on Tuesday, saying the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation,” reportedly after learning Offset, 28, had been unfaithful yet again, PEOPLE confirms

Cardi B, 27, filed for divorce at an Atlanta courthouse on Tuesday, saying the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation,” reportedly after learning Offset, 28, had been unfaithful yet again, PEOPLE confirms. Cardi B has been riding the high of having her single “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion debut at No.1 and become a cultural phenomenon. She’s also one of the more vocal celebrities when it come to politics, sitting down with Bernie Sanders and endorsing AOC for president in 2024. Offset – famous for being 1/3 of hip hop trio Migos – rose to fame after they began dating in 2017.
Cheating rumors have circulated for almost the entirety of their three-year-relationship and continued after the birth of their daughter Kulture Kiari. In Jan. 2018 Cardi (born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar) confirmed Offset ( Kiari Kendrell Cephus) had been in a sex tape with another woman three months after they secretly wed in Dec. 2017.
She addressed his cheating and taking him back during an interview with Vogue for the January 2020 issue.
“When me and my husband got into our issues — you know, he cheated and everything — and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me,” Cardi explained. “But it’s real-life shit. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation. Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, how could you? You let all of us down.
They’d split up in Dec. 2018 after welcoming their daughter Kulture on July 10, 2018. They reunited after Offset posted on Instagram pleading for her to take him back. “I was partaking in activity that I shouldn’t have been partaking in, and I apologize. You know what I’m saying? For breaking your heart, for breaking our promise, for breaking God’s promise and being a selfish, messed up husband.”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper may have been hinting at the impending divorce on her Instagram stories when she posted a quote that reads “Her heart finally told her to stop wasting her time,” including the caption “it’s time” with a winking emoji.
Now she’s reportedly seeking full custody of their daughter as well as child support. They are due in court Nov. 4 and neither has commented on the divorce. “Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time [they’ve been together], but Cardi looked the other way because of the baby,” a source told PEOPLE. “She also didn’t want to be embarrassed. But she’s had enough.”
