Eva Longoria’s ‘Land of Women’ to Premiere this Summer
Apple TV+ released a sneak peek of the six-episode series 'Land of Women' that'll be available in both English and Spanish
Actress Eva Longoria dominated 2023 with projects where she explored roles beyond acting and this year is starting off strong already. Last year we saw her directorial debut with the Flamin’ Hot on the life of Richard Montañez and the development of the Hot Cheetos snack, as well as her role in the film adaptation of the young adult novel Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe following two queer Mexican American teenagers in the 1980s. She also premiered her food and travel show Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico on CNN where she explores different parts of and cultures in Mexico. This year she will continue making strides in the upcoming Apple TV+ mini-series Land of Women not only in front of the camera as a lead character but behind the camera as well serving as an executive producer.
“When three generations of women are forced to flee New York to a charming village in Spain, they face an unexpected threat: small-town gossip,” Apple TV+ wrote in a caption sharing the news.
The series follows Gala (played by Longoria) as she flees New York City with her mother (Maura) and daughter (Bazúa) after her husband’s involvement in financial improprieties. To run from the debt owed due to her now-vanished husband’s dealings, they leave the country to a small town in northern Spain from which Gala’s mother once fled 50 years prior. They establish roots in this town hoping to keep their identities hidden but soon, family secrets and truths are revealed.

The series, shot in both English and Spanish, is set to premiere this summer and will be available to watch in both languages.
The series is based on the best selling 2015 novel La Tierra de las Mujeres by Spanish journalist and television personality, Sandra Barneda.
