One of the best parts of watching awards shows happens even before the broadcast begins. The red carpet is where all the glitz and glam take place, where you can see the beautiful gowns that our favorite celebs have chosen for the evening, made complete with flawless hair and makeup ,and perfect accessories.

This year, the Latin Grammys celebrated 20 years of showcasing the best of Latin music. We recently shared some of our favorite red carpet looks from those two decades, and thankfully, it looks like those special, once in a lifetime red carpet looks will continue to amaze. The 2019 Latin Grammys red carpet featured some fabulous sartorial moments, which of course we captured and have for you here.

Venezolana Chiquinquira Delgado is one of those Latinx celebs who always seems to slay it on the red carpet. This year, she didn’t disappoint with a bold red-orange, tiered dream designed by Monique Lhuillier. The dramatic look was anchored by a softly swept back bun, neutral makeup, and minimal accessories.

Spanish singer Natalia Jimenez gives us total Frida Kahlo vibes, with her use of rich colors, bold accessories, and striking floral crowns. Her looks throughout the Latin Grammys were winners, including this cobalt blue Benito Santos gown she wore on the red carpet, accessorized with fuschia roses and statement jewelry.

Roselyn Sanchez, who was one of the hosts of the Latin Grammys, alongside Ricky Martin and Paz Vega, is another person who never disappoints on the red carpet. This look is so interesting–it fits into the neutral, sparkly, bodycon style that has been on-trend for a while for awards shows. But upon closer look, you see soft pops of pastel color, and unique cutouts.

Actress, model, and 2015 Miss Dominican Republic Clarissa Molina wore one of the most unique dresses on the red carpet. Designer Sebastian Grey (the Colombian winner of Project Runway) created a stunning gown made up of hand-looped strips of silver metal.

Alejandra Espinoza owns the red carpet, event after event, and year after year. This year, she shone in a metallic sea foam Rubin Singer gown that was draped in a dramatic, yet effortless manner. Her sleek, slick hair and dainty silver-tone accessories add both strong and demure touches to the look.

You can almost never go wrong opting for an evening gown in chic, classic black. Brazilian singer-songwriter and arranger Paula Fernandes showcases exactly why in this timeless high-low hemline dress by Ateliê Alexandrina. The color allows the flattering shape and sheen of the dress to receive the focus; we also love how the fit and shorter front keep the dress from overpowering Paula’s frame.

Spanish singer Aitana was among our best dressed female celebs of the evening. Her look was pure 1990s–a spaghetti strap slipdress made moody and almost goth in deep burgundy velvet. Her strong winged liner and dark lip, which matched her gown, took the look into even edgier territory.

wp_*postsAleyda Ortiz

Puerto Rican actress, model, television host, and beauty queen Aleyda Ortiz is another red carpet winner, with several sartorial victories under her stylish belt. She’s one to look for at each event, wearing stunning dresses that always have a cool, unexpected detail. At this year’s Latin Grammys, Aleyda’s striking dress was created by Venezuelan designer Nouaihed.

Another gown that proves that enough detail can take a basic black dress to a dazzling new level is this one worn by Peruvian singer-songwriter Anna Carina. Her slinky noir Yahel Waisman gown features glittering embroidery against a sheer bodice, and a daring slit. Her equally slinky shoes and diamond hoops complete the sexy yet stylish look.

There are those stars who opt to go for a classic, glamorous gown choice that is Old Hollywood perfection. At the Latin Grammys, Nuestra Belleza 2015 winner, TV host, and actress, Dominicana Francisca Lachapel, arrived in one of these beautiful, timeless looks, by Dominican-Lebanese designer Giannina Azar.
