Enrique Iglesias is so good about keeping things on the DL. His 19-relationship with Anna Kournikova has always been mysterious. So, we were a bit stunned when they announced the birth of their twins back in 2017. Now we’re even more surprised by the news that the couple welcomed a baby girl on January 30.
The Spanish-Filipino singer and his baby mama both posted images of their newborn yesterday with the simple caption, “My Sunshine 01.30.2020.” We give it up to this couple for keeping their personal life so private. We had no idea Kournikova was even pregnant. How do they do it?! The couple, who have chosen not to marry, live a secluded life in Miami, but we’re sure they have paparazzi in Florida, so how do they stay off the radar?
A couple of years ago, Iglesias opened up about how he has been able to maintain his very public relationship so private. Because like most relationships, there’s always going to be a lot of ups and downs, but when you’re in the spotlight, it makes those turbulent times even worse.
“I’ve been with my girlfriend for 17 years. We’ve had good times and bad times,” he said, according to Hola! magazine. “Moments when I wanted to end it. (When I thought) ‘I can’t take it anymore.” He added, “There was one time —well two times actually —that she told me ‘that’s enough, I’m done. And I remember—and this is the truth— that I wrote this song to say sorry. Writing is my therapy.”
We love that the couple discloses their news when they are ready to do it. When the 44-year-old singer had his twins in 2017, the public found out when he revealed the announcement at a concert in Budapest, Hungary.
“I became a father 12 weeks ago,” he told his fans. “And I can absolutely tell you two things, without the slightest doubt, I love my babies. Actually, three things, I love my girl, and I love you guys for being here tonight.”
His 38-year-old girlfriend is as private as Iglesias, but her Instagram is a bit more open about her life. She shares beautiful pictures of her twins, her dogs, and once in a blue moon, actually, just once, she has posted an image of her man.
Whatever social media rules they got, it is working because the happy couple can call the shots and live the kind of life they choose. So good for them! And congrats on the brand new baby!
