Enrique Iglesias & Ricky Martin Join Forces for Mega Tour
If you’ve ever wanted to relive your youth and dance like it’s 2001, the time is now
If you’ve ever wanted to relive your youth and dance like it’s 2001, the time is now. Two of our favorite Latin music artists — Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias — are going on freakin’ tour together and we can hardly contain our excitement.
These two mega music giants exploded into the mainstream during the late ’90s/ early aughts with their hits such as “La Vida Loca” and “Bailamos,” but really, they’ve been part of our lives forever.
“We always spoke and we always stayed in contact and we thought that this would happen at some point,” Iglesias said at a joint press conference, according to the Grammys. “We didn’t know exactly when, and I think we are in that point in our lives and our careers. We’re going to have fun.”
Martin’s inception into the music world was with the Latino boy band, Menudo, and Iglesias (and legendry mole) won our hearts with his Spanish ballads like “Si Tu Te vas.” While this marks their first joint tour, it makes perfect sense that they would team up and hit the road.
“This is a moment in Latin music that is special,” Iglesias said. “It’s going to happen now. We don’t know if it’s going to happen again ever, so we want to enjoy it.” Iglesias added, “Get ready to have a good time and just forget about all the issues.”
The tour kicks off on September 5 in Phoenix, AZ at the Gila River Arena, with shows in Texas, California, Nevada, and then the East Coast. Their tour comes to an end on October 30 in Atlanta, Georiga. Joining them as their opener will be musical artist Sebastian Yatra.
While we’re praying that the two hunky men perform their old hits, they have so many new songs as well. It’s going to be a challenge to get to their very best from their catalog.
Here’s their entire tour schedule. See you there!
