Unless you happened to be living in New York City in 2015 and early 2016, you probably missed seeing Lin-Manuel Miranda star as Alexander Hamilton in his massively popular and groundbreaking Hamilton musical on Broadway. Even some of us who lived there couldn’t score tickets since, shortly after the show blew up, they were basically impossible to come by. But now fans of the show are getting a chance to see the creator take the stage once again when Miranda brings Hamilton to Puerto Rico.

Although he last performed as Alexander Hamilton back in July 2016, the Puerto Rican writer and lyricist has been keeping plenty busy. Not only did he compose music for Moana (which earned him an Oscar nomination earlier this year) and will star as Jack in next year’s Mary Poppins Returns alongside Emily Blunt, but he has also been active in raising money for Puerto Rican relief efforts after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in September.

“Bringing Hamilton: An American Musical to Puerto Rico is a dream that I’ve had since we first opened at The Public Theater in 2015,” said Miranda. “When I last visited the island, a few weeks before Hurricane Maria, I had made a commitment to not only bring the show to Puerto Rico, but also return again to the title role. In the aftermath of Maria we decided to expedite the announcement of the project to send a bold message that Puerto Rico will recover and be back in business, stronger than ever.”

According to Yahoo, Hamilton will run in Puerto Rico in January 2019, from the 8th to the 27th, for just three weeks. The show will take place at the Teatro UPR and many of the seats will be part of a $10 ticket lottery, which means that those of us who couldn’t afford to see Hamilton during the original NYC run may actually be able to afford it now—if only we can buy plane tickets in time.

Luckily, as Miranda himself put it, there’s “a year and a bit” before Hamilton opens in PR. Making the announcement with Miranda, Ender Vega, the president of Acisum Group, added: “Right now, people in Puerto Rico need good news that would bring them hope, optimism, courage and a solid vision for the future. We have no doubt that Hamilton: An American Musical premiere in Puerto Rico in January 2019 will do just that.”

Personally, I’m going to be saving for the next year to take a little Hamilton vacation for sure. And I’m not the only one…
