Karol G Makes History as First Musician Turned into a Bratz Doll
La Bichota is the first musician to ever have a Bratz doll created in her honor
Colombiana Karol G has been making history and winning awards all year, and now she’s being immortalized in an exciting new way. On Monday, November 25, the Bratz fashion doll brand announced the release of a Bratz doll created in La Bichota’s image and celebrating her influence. With this, the 33-year-old Medellín native has become the first musician in history to collaborate with Bratz in this way and be turned into a Bratz doll. The Bratz x Karol G Collector doll wears a rose gold dress similar to the one she wore at the 2023 Latin Grammys red carpet, when she won Album of the Year for Mañana Será Bonito, and features long blond hair with bangs and a pink ombre tone. The doll also comes with a second outfit inspired by Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season) official tour merchandise, three mini awards, and a realistic mini Mañana Será Bonito LP.
The Colombian superstar has had a very successful year following the release of her Mañana Será Bonito album in 2023, which became the first all-Spanish release by a woman to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. She made history several times throughout her Mañana Será Bonito: Bichota Season tour, becoming the first Latina artist to sell out the Levi’s Stadium, first Latina artist to headline MetLife Stadium, and the first Latin artist to sell out two consecutive shows at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Additionally, she became the first Latina to ever headline a global stadium tour.
In 2023, she became the first Latina to win the Grammy award for Best Música Urbana Album. When she won the same award again at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards earlier this month, she became the first woman and third artist ever to win the category twice.
La Bichota gushed about the collaboration in an official statement, reflecting on how far she’s come in her career and what the doll means to her:
“I can’t believe I get to celebrate another huge milestone in my career with my first-ever doll—and I’m so proud it’s with Bratz, a brand I’ve always been a superfan of and grew up with! It’s surreal to think that just over a year ago, I was celebrating my first Latin GRAMMY win, and now I get to share a doll inspired by that very moment in my career. Bratz are ‘Bichotas’ in their own way—they’re independent, bold, and powerful trendsetters who have been part of our lives since the early 2000s. This collaboration is a true labor of love and a celebration for fans across Latin America and beyond.”
The Bratz x Karol G Collector doll will be available for pre-order globally beginning December 3, 2024. The doll will be sold for $50 and will be available in select stories across Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Spain.
