Colombian artist Karol G continues on her record breaking, history making streak. Just last month, her latest album Mañana Será Bonito reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, making her the first Latina in history to hit the milestone with an all-Spanish-language album. She also sold out three stadium concerts in Puerto Rico and released the single “TQG” with fellow Colombiana Shakira, which is breaking more streaming records on Spotify. This week, she made history yet again when music festival Lollapalooza announced that she would be one of eight main acts in this year’s line-up, making her the first Latina artist in history to headline the music festival. She will be performing alongside other headliners Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, and Tomorrow X Together, according to their official announcement.

Originally created in 1991 by alternative rock musician Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza is one of the most famous and iconic music festivals in the world and is held annually in Chicago over the course of four days on multiple stages. While it has previously toured around the country and even internationally through specialized spin-off events, the main event has been held at its permanent location in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois as a highly anticipated festival for both locals and tourists. This year, the festival will take place from August 3-6 and feature over 170 acts including other high-profile Latinx acts like Jessie Reyez, Ivan Cornejo, Jean Dawson, The Linda Lindas, Los Aptos, Usted Señalemelo, Isabel LaRosa, and Junior Mesa.

It’s amazing to see our music being uplifted on such an iconic and historically important stage and for it to be exposed to music lovers from all over the world. We especially love seeing Karol G getting her flowers in the U.S. for her fun-filled live performances, including her recent sold-out concerts at the Estadio Hiram Bithorn of San Juan, Puerto Rico earlier this month alongside special guests like Sean Paul, Bad Gyal, and Feid.

“3 nights, 3 stadiums, 3 SOLD OUTS and THE DEEPER LOVE I HAVE FELT FOR YOU SINCE THIS LAST ALBUM CAME OUT 🌸,” she said in an Instagram post following the performances. “We sing as if there were no tomorrow or maybe we sing like that because we know that tomorrow will always be beautiful ☀️🦋🍄🌵💖🌴🌊 PUERTO RICO TAS LUCÍOOOO ♥️♥️♥️ I felt at home and both me and my country 🇨🇴 we will always be grateful for that unconditional love !!!”

Presale tickets for Lollapalooza will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT through the festival’s official website. We can’t wait to see Karol G headlining the main stage this summer!
