This next iconic Latina needs no introduction...

Icon and Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla remains a cultural icon more than two decades since her untimely death. Fans around the world love to keep her spirit alive by listening to her hit music and dressing as her for Halloween. One of Selena’s most iconic looks is from her 1995 Houston Astrodome show, where she wore this jumpsuit found on Amazon for $31.99 and captivated the entire world. Batter up! Mexican American Margaret “Marge” Villa, affectionately known as “Poncho,” played for the Kenosha Comets in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1946 to 1950. She showcased her versatility on the field as a catcher, shortstop, second baseman, third baseman, and outfielder, proudly donning the number 4 on her uniform. She batted and threw right and made three playoff appearances.

You can’t find a Kenosha Comets costume without hand-making it; however, you can find this AAGPBL uniform on Amazon for $39.99, which would make a great fit.

For Latina Barbie fans…

Honduran American actres America Ferrera has starred in iconic roles in Ugly Betty, Real Women Have Curves, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but most recently she gave us her first Oscar-nominated role as Gloria in Barbie. Though there isn’t an exact Gloria costume, this pink jumpsuit costume from Spirit Halloween for $49.99 is a great way to drive the Latina girl power back into Halloween.

For the more ambitious costume…

The Avatar movies are timeless, much like Zoe Saldaña’s stunning portrayal as Neytiri, the fierce Na’vi from Pandora. If you want to emulate her look from the mega successful movies, you can find her costume on Amazon for $53.98. Don’t forget the wig, also from Amazon, for $30.04, and the makeup for $9.99. The look is definitely more ambitious due to the makeup but once you check out a Youtube tutorial, it’ll be easy to master and with the whole look together, it’ll be a standout costume.

For the Disney lovers…

Lastly, no costume shopping guide would be complete without mentioning the beloved Mirabel Madrigal from Encanto. This Disney film, which beautifully highlights Colombian heritage, is destined to become a timeless classic thanks in part to the catchy soundtrack with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Mirabel’s colorful and vibrant skirt and lace top has become one of the most recognizable Disney costumes in recent years. If you want to go for a look that is recognizable, try your luck at this Mirabel look from Halloween Superstore for $49.99.
