When you live in one of the biggest urban cities in the country you would think that coming up with a Valentine’s Day date is easy. Well it can be easy if you decide to be basic and take your significant other to a predictable date place (like Perch or Beso), but we think this day calls for something out of the ordinary. No matter how long you have been seeing each other, do not slip! Be creative, unique, and spontaneous! Show your significant other that you put a lot of thought into your special night. If you need help with dope suggestions, I am here to give you some ideas.

Foodies

For the foodie couple! Take your partner on a food trip around the world without actually leaving Los Angeles by planning a date to Grand Central Market. GCM has delicious food choices from all over the world. Print out “airline tickets” with your names on it and the countries you are headed to. Hand them to your partner in an envelope and let their curiosity lead the way around your foodie date. You will leave with both a happy stomach and heart.

Wellness

If y’all are into wellness and spirituality, take a walk at the beautiful Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades. The meditation garden was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda whom brought over a lot of yogic ideas and meditation practices to the west. The garden has an artificial lake surrounded by beautiful trees , flowers, and statues. There is also many seating areas, a boat house, and a meditation chapel to sit quietly at. This place is so zen and far removed from the city you will not want to leave.

Dress in your best vintage outfit and head over to La Descarga for a night of salsa dancing. La Descarga is a speakeasy that will transport you to Cuba. You will have plenty of specialty rum cocktails to choose from and a cigar patio. Prepare for great entertainment with a live Salsa band and burlesque dancing performances! Reservations in advance are required.
