Massy Arias and Tess Holiday Are Teaming Up and It’s a Badass Feminist Duo For Sure

The body positive movement has done a lot to not only encourage women to love and embrace their bodies regardless of size, but also to debunk some of the misconceptions and myths some folks still seem to have around plus-size women. SELF magazine graced their first ever digital cover in July with plus-size model, author and fat-positivity activist Tess Holiday who got real about how her health is no one’s business and it looks like Holiday has recently teamed up with Dominican health coach and fitness influencer Massy Arias, a.k.a Mankofit.

“The start of something magical @tessholiday. I am ready to start this journey with this amazing human. When I first started following Tess, I was both attracted and in love with her message about body confidence; we need more of it,” Arias captioned a photo of the two of them to Instagram. “Yesterday was our first workout. She killed it. Not only with her physical effort, but her mental energy. Mindset is everything, and when I asked her what her goal was, her response was “TO GET STRONGER.” Stay tuned. We’re going to inspire the world.”

Tess also posted the same photo to Instagram with the caption: “I’m excited to start my new journey with @massyarias. We’ve been following each other for quite a while on IG & I finally reached out to her about being my new trainer and this was taken today after our first workout together. Our view points align that every BODY is valid, that size isn’t an indicator of health and we are both feminists raising tiny lil feminists to rule the world! Now I’m gonna sleep forever bc she kicked my ass today!”

Everything about these two working together is amazing. Arias’ message to the world has always been positive. This Dominicana went through her own fair share of health struggles, body image issues, and depression and got through it with the help of fitness and has used her love of personal training to inspire others to love and be kinder to themselves, regardless of what stage in life they’re in. She is in many ways a body positive advocate. Holiday who is also a body positive activist, is constantly promoting healthy body image and self-esteem and has learned to love and embrace her body and uses her platform and her voice to empower women to love theirs as well. To see these two powerful feminist working together is beyond inspiring.

Holiday might be taking her fitness to another level with Arias but don’t you dare question her health or drop any opinions about it in her Instagram comments because she’s not interested in hearing it. “I just refuse to go down that road, and to tell like I need to prove my health and my worth to people that don’t care,” she said in her cover story interview with SELF magazine. “There’s a famous quote, I don’t know who said it but I use it all the time: ‘Never waste your time explaining yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.”

We couldn’t agree more and can’t wait to see how this journey with these two badass ladies unfolds.
