Earlier this year H-E-B, a Texas grocery chain, sold out of their limited edition Selena Quintanilla bags. Now, they’re doing it again with a stunning new Selena bag. This time around, it seems as if the grocery chain is preparing for the madness in advance and will hopefully prevent selling out by having more bags.
“Selena fans – you’ve been waiting and the time is now here! On 12/6, we will have a second limited edition #SelenayHEB Bag available for sale in H-E-B stores and online at selena.heb.com. This second edition bag is still limited availability, but we have a larger supply for Selena’s many fans. The bags will be for sale the morning of 12/6 online only at our new website, selena.heb.com, and in stores on 12/6. In stores, these will be sold at 6 a.m. or when your store opens (whichever is later). #SelenayHEB bags will be sold at all H-E-B, H-E-B plus!, Mi Tienda and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores. Bags are $2 each, limit 2/person.”
That doesn’t seem too difficult, right? At least this time, if you don’t live in Texas, you can still buy them online. But again, it’s only two per person, so you better tell your tias and cousins to help you out.
“The passion from Selena fans has been incredible and has demonstrated a strong following from around the nation,” H-E-B stated earlier this year. It is great to be a part of the love that Selena continues to inspire across all generations. We are officially sold out in stores and online.”
When the partnership between Selena and the chain was first announced, Selena’s sister, Suzette according to a press release: “Working with H‑E‑B to create this bag was a highlight for me. This bag will help The Selena Foundation give back to our community and gives Selena’s fans something to tote around. This collaboration between the Quintanillas and H-E-B includes a $25,000 donation to the Selena Foundation, a non‑profit organization committed to community and educational initiatives.” It has yet to be known if the sales of this new bag will also include a donation to the Selena Foundation.
Here’s more info on the bag itself: Made of 100-percent recycled material, the bags will be available, both in store and online, for $2 each, limit two per person. The retailer produced a greater quantity of bags for the second-edition release, but they still will be available in limited quantities and while supplies last. With a new design, the tote with purple handle features color photos of the pop star alongside the word “Siempre” (Always) and her signature. Each side also showcases thoughtful quotes from the Grammy award-winning Latin recording artist.
