Patty Rodriguez often wears many different hats. You may know her as the creator of Lil’Libros, a bilingual children’s book publisher. She’s also the senior producer and on-air talent at “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” and works on many other creative projects at the same time. Pretty damn incredible, huh? On top of all of this, she’s also a loving and dedicated mom to two boys. Rodriguez’s nonstop work ethic and hustle is inspiring. Of course not everyday is perfect and running late is normal so being able to depend on Starbucks and Uber Eats is a huge help for Patty. The hustle never stops and that’s why we asked her to take us behind the scenes to experience a day in her life. Here you’ll get to see how this Mexicana from Los Angeles became a household name. This is Patty Rodriguez’s Jefa Day in the Life:

5 AM RISE AND GRIND

First thing I do once I wake up in the morning is check my emails for the day and place an order on Uber Eats of my favorite venti Black Iced Tea with no sweetener from Starbucks. The ice cold drink wakes me right up and sets the stage for the entire day. I also order a pair of Bacon, Gouda, and Egg sandwiches for my kids and some snacks for me and my kids to enjoy later in the afternoon. This way by the time I’m done checking emails, I’ll already have the energy I need to get through the busy day ahead and won’t have to worry about rushing to cook breakfast.

Setting up my kids for success every morning is my top priority. While my Uber Eats order is on it’s way, I take advantage of that time to help my kids get ready for school and also prepare their lunches for the day. Once the Uber Eats order arrives, my kids get to enjoy their breakfast sandwiches while I enjoy my venti Black Iced Tea before sending them to school. Happy kids and happy mom. Win, win.

6 AM ON AIR

Once the kids are dressed and fed then it’s off to the home studio to jump on the morning show! I have been working in radio since I was a senior in high school! I love the connection radio has with my community. The city of Los Angeles has seen me grow from a high school kid from Lynwood, they have been through it all with me…the ups and downs. We have a beautiful relationship.

11 AM BREAK TIME!

Everyday at 11 AM after we wrap up the morning show, I take a quick break before moving on to daily meetings. I get really hangry so if I don’t have a snack, my day cannot move forward. The yummy snacks I ordered in the morning from Uber Eats give me the energy to tackle the rest of the day.

After my break I spend the rest of my day dedicated to Lil’ Libros. Right now we are working on wrapping our Spring 2022 releases, so most of the day is spent going over production details. On days like these that are full of deadlines, I am running on a tight schedule and next thing I know it’s time to pick up the kids! I make sure to bring along the rest of my Uber Eats order in the morning. This way I can make sure my kids are not going to soccer practice after school on an empty stomach.

I really enjoy the time I spend in the car on my way to pick up my kids from school. This is my opportunity to catch up on my audio books. I love reading, I love learning something new everyday and am open to seeing something through a different perspective. Soon as the kids jump in the car, I give them their snacks and take them to soccer practice.

5-7 PM SOCCER TIME

My kids are my motivation to get through the day and a huge inspiration for all the work I do. These little moments of stillness where I get to sit and watch my kids play soccer mean everything to me. Growing up, my parents did not have the means to enroll us in extra curricular activities, I am so grateful that I can now do this for my own children.

7 PM ENDING THE DAY TOGETHER

I love unwinding at the end of the day with my kids. This is the time where we all get to take a break, relax and talk about each other’s days. After dinner and a warm bath, we all jump into bed and read a book together before calling it a night.
