Everyone is on pins and needles waiting for that stimulus check to float into their bank account. The issue is: a lot of people are waiting. Unfortunately, not everyone will get a government check. As a result of the economic shutdown due to the coronavirus outbreak, the government issued a one-time-only financial benefit to people with a social security number. Some people have already received there direct deposit stimulus check, and many others are still refreshing their accounts waiting for it to pop in.

If you’re wondering whether or not you’re getting a check, the Washington Post has a calculator that will help you determine whether or not you’re going to get money from the government. So, if you filed your 2019 income tax already and gave the IRS your direct deposit information, your stimulus money should be coming in soon. But like we said, not everyone will get money. Unfortunately, our government is not providing help to those without a social security number, including undocumented people who pay taxes. Also, if you make too much money, you may not get a stimulus check either.

The Post notes the breakdown and reports that the government would provide “$1,200 payments to adults with annual incomes up to $75,000, plus another $500 per child. Some Americans earning more than $75,000 would also receive money if they meet certain qualifications…For most Americans, the money is likely to arrive in April via direct deposit. Mailed checks may take longer.”
