I am always eager to travel and learn new cooking tips and recipes and if the journey happens to be a road trip in a great new car, I am always ready to go. So when I got the chance to discover Miami in a new Chevrolet Equinox I jumped at the chance. This connectivity tech in this car was incredible, including a MyLink infotainment system designed to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot so I was happily bumping my reggaeton a todo timbal from my cell phone playlist!

We started out our tour with Chef Lorena at the supermarket so that we could pick up all the ingredients we needed to make a delicious lunch. While we were working, she showed us how to keep fresh vegetables in the fridge, which vegetables we should buy according to the season, and lots of other super useful tips.

Then we headed to the famous El Palacio de los Jugos where we learned how to choose fruits and drank cold coconut water, the drink of choice in cities like Miami. SUPER REFRESHING!

At the end of the ride, we were greeted with a spectacular non-alcoholic Blood Orange Mocktail Mojito and were pleasantly surprised to have celebrity Chef Lorena Garcia entertain us with some wonderful and tasty recipes.

We started by trying the simple and  unique cilantro and beet arepitas or reenters that had a fun pink color and were decorated with tomato jam and cream cheese. She also showed us how to make a creamy maduro plantain soup that left us all wanting more.  And since I loved it, of course I asked for the recipe to share with you.

Enjoy!
