Although Milk Tea hair has been a thing for a while in Japan, the trend has blown up for 2019. The color is just how it sounds, that in-between warm and ash milky brown color you get when you add leche to tea. Colors that are in between light and dark seem to be a larger trend for Fall 2019 hair; they’re the happy middle ground between summer lights and brights, and fall’s rich deeper, darker hues.

Golden Black

Black hair doesn’t have to be flat with no dimension. Just look at the Golden Black hair trend for fall! You have all the richness of black tresses, but with a cool golden tinge via gilded highlights. It’s great for when you want to keep or have your hair dark, but want to add some brightness and something unique.

Mushroom Blonde

Another in-between color you’ll be seeing everywhere for fall is Mushroom Blonde. This is a blonde (also called mushroom brown) that has a big dose of mushroomy grey-brown to it. It’s one of those bronde shades that allows blondes to go a bit darker for fall and brunettes to go a bit lighter.

Honey Highlights

Honey highlights are classic, but also a trend for Fall 2019. They will warm up the hair without going too light. You will generally see a lot of warm hues trending this autumn, including dazzling copper, bold red, and even several hues at once that are meant to mimic the fall leaves.

Copper Red

Want to go bold for fall? Then maybe you should try copper red, an autumnal trend. It’s rich, it’s bold, it’s very warm — perfect to go with all those other fall hues you’ll be wearing in the form of clothes, accessories, makeup, nail polish, and more.

Shadow Roots

If you couldn't tell, we love visual breakdowns. Raise your hand if you do too. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The consultation is the best time to ask questions about your client's goals, and decide what #haircolortechniques you'll use to get them there. ⁣⁣ Does your client want a lived-in look? Then a #rootmelt is the best option. Do they want brightness right up to their part? Then go with a #rootshadow. Read on for @the.blonde.chronicles' 🇺🇸technique breakdown 👇⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 💥Root Shadow 💥⁣⁣⁣: Aim for 1-2 levels darker than the highlights⁣⁣ ➡️ When: after traditional foil #highlights that go all the way up to the roots⁣⁣⁣ ➡️ Why: to blur, or “shadow,” the place at the roots where the highlight and the natural color meet, without completely covering up the highlight⁣⁣ ➡️ How: Apply the color in horizontal sections about 1 inch from the roots. Leave the hairline foils out for a brighter pop towards the front⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 💥Root Melt 💥:⁣⁣ Aim for the same level as the natural, or sometimes a level darker, depending on your desired result⁣ ➡️ When: after a #teasylight foil when creating a lived-in look⁣⁣⁣ ➡️ Why: to completely erase any line of demarcation so you can’t tell where the natural base color ends and the highlights begin⁣⁣⁣ ➡️ How: apply color up to about 1 inch past where the teasylights begin. This is typically 2-3 inches down from the root⁣.

Remember when seeing your roots was a major faux pas?! Now it’s cool to have your roots showing! Shadow roots allow your own natural color to blend into another color or colors. Or, you can create new roots in another hue. It’s a trend you’ll see around this fall.

Dark Roast

A lot of recent trending hair colors are named after food: mulled wine, hot toddy, salmon sushi, cold brew, and more. One of the next culinary-inspired hair trends you’ll be seeing for fall is Dark Roast. It’s just like it sounds — a dark cool brown with little warmth but lots of style.

Golden Yellow Blonde

While on one side of the fall trend spectrum for blondes there is a cool icy silver, on the other is golden, yellowy blonde. The look is cheery, young, and warm. If you want to go blonde for autumn, you have more than one on-trend option to try out!

Chili Chocolate

We are so stoked that there are several on-trend dark colors for fall. And they’re not boring! One such hue is Chili Chocolate. You take that rich chocolate color that so many go for when the temperature drops and spice it up with red chili. The result is warm, rich, and flattering!

Face Framing Highlights

Whatever color you’re considering for fall, why not partake in this pretty trend? Face framing highlights draw the eye to where you want it to — your face! It’s an easy way to look youthful, as well as in the know.

Photo: GlowslyOf course, we had to include a hair trend that is for the boldest of the bold. One of the latest fads is coloring your hair to mimic an epic sunset or the changing leaves of fall. There are so many different ways to do this, so you can find an option that works best for your taste, lifestyle, skin tone, existing hair color, and more. Have fun with it!

Silver/Grey/Charcoal

Super cool and ashy blondes and greys have been in vogue for a long time, but we are always happy to see it still trending. It allows women to embrace their natural grays and gives some edge to those who want a neutral shade with some oomph. Go for a stark shimmery silver, opt for a middle ground grey, or get moody with a deeper charcoal.

Chocolate Brown

Chocolate brown is always going to be a hit when it comes to fabulous hair colors. It’s on the darker side, but still has that warmth that many folks look for especially during the colder months.  This classic is also trending for 2019, so why not go lighter, or darker this fall to obtain this sweet hue?!

Bright, Intense Red

There are so many cool, on-trend options for fall if you want to go warmer with your current color or go full-on red if you aren’t already. In addition to copper, peach, coral, and rose gold hues, you will also see people go for a bright intense, red velvet red. It’s definitely for the person who wants to make a bold statement for autumn!

Strawberry Blonde

No matter what the temperatures say outside this fall, it’s going to get warm when it comes to hair color. Another shade of blonde that will be trending is strawberry blonde (also strawberry blonde, which is pictured here).

Raspberry/Plum

For those who want a darker color that still has something fresh and unexpected, why not try the popular for fall raspberry, plum, and cranberry hues?! Not only will it instantly give your makeup and clothing looks new life, but you will automatically look dope against all those Thanksgiving and Christmas/holiday colors you’ll be surrounded by!

Pumpkin Spice Latte/Soft Pumpkin Spice

When fall rolls around, it’s all about pumpkin spice everything. You’ll see it everywhere, including in one of the latest trending hair looks. The color looks like it sounds — the warm, pumpkin-like colors that you’ll see in a PSL, with a bit of milk mixed in for good measure. You will see this executed in different tones, with varied results.

Ink Black

It’s a classic, but jet black, inky hair is also a trend for autumn of 2019. The color is at the other end of the hair color spectrum from icy platinum blonde, and just as dramatic. It will allow any makeup looks you create to take center stage (you can get colorful!) while also holding its own as a dark, alluring look in its own right.

Peach Cobbler/Peach/Coral

View this post on Instagram

#HAIRTREND: PEACH COBBLER In the South, summertime means fresh berries bursting in bright colors and cobblers filled with warm, melty goodness. The newest color trend booming on Instagram is #peachcobblerhair. The color was first coined by colorist Chad Kenyon who explained that he “painted a soft shadow-root, lowlights, and a global-gloss (all over) with varying nutmeg-infused peach tones” and “vanilla bean ice-creamy blonde dimension throughout her hair by balayaging and strobing,” as reported by Allure. You’ve seen coral all over the place for months, since Living Coral is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2019. There have been many interpretations of the warm, tropical hue for hair, but the latest is called Peach Cobbler. You can also still try out variations peach and coral, as they’re very much on-trend.

Rose Gold Highlights/Balayage/Ombre

The final fab on-trend hair color that we are going to share with you is rose gold. We’ve seen this in several different forms, including ombre, so talk to your stylist if you want to try this out and see how much of this luxe, warm hue you want to weave through your hair!
