As the saying goes, “New Year, New Me!” The New Year is the perfect chance to refresh and revamp your look. Updating and experimenting with your look is always exciting, but can be a bit overwhelming, since you don’t always know where to start. But changes don’t always have to be big, drastic, or expensive. Here are five simple, easy ways to change up your look for 2017 that won’t break the bank!

Try a New Lipstick

Find yourself always donning the same lipstick shade? Or find yourself rarely wearing lipstick? Easily switch up your day-to-day look by wearing a different lipstick shade! Don’t be afraid to break out of your shell and buy a shade that’s out of your comfort zone. You never know what may work out for you! Try out a luxurious red or shocking pink! By simply wearing a flattering shade, you can bring color, glow, and confidence back into your look.

Don’t Hate, Exfoliate!

Start off the New Year with beautiful skin by regularly exfoliating! Exfoliation is an essential skincare step that is commonly overlooked by women everywhere. The practice removes dead skin cells, which softens and brightens up the skin. Especially during winter, skin tends to be dull and dry, resulting in lackluster color and texture. In order to combat this, pick up a scrub from your local drugstore. I recommend Acure’s Brightening Facial Scrub, which contains sea kelp for skin cell regeneration. Or you could DIY an exfoliator for a fun at-home spa night. Mix finely ground oatmeal with raw honey for a gentle, all-natural exfoliant!

Get Bangs!

Adding bangs is the easiest way to change up your hairstyle. Make a trip down to your hairstylist and take the leap! Bangs are so versatile and there are several different ways to style them, so there really is a look and cut for everyone! Similar to lipstick, bangs can “accessorize” a beauty look or tie an outfit together. Although bangs may be a bit of a commitment, styling and finding out what works best for you will ultimately rewarding! If you try bangs, dry shampoo will become your best friend (if it’s not already).

Invest in Staple Accessorizing Pieces!

Adding accessories to an outfit no matter how casual or fancy can truly make over a look and change it into something wonderful. A simple white t-shirt and jeans can be transformed into a dressy casual look by adding a colorful statement necklace and simple black blazer. By gradually adding versatile staple pieces to your wardrobe, you’ll be able to take a plain, basic outfit and turn it into something more lively and flattering. Take a trip down to a few local boutiques or consignment stores for unique pieces that will be able to glam up a look and make it unforgettable!
