My naturally curly hair has been through a lot. Anyone who knows me – well enough anyway – knows that I’ve been dealing with heat-damage on and off for the past four or so years and it has felt like a goddamn lifetime. It was all a result of weekly blowouts and not giving my hair the TLC it desperately required. But after chopping off a majority of my damaged ends back in March and significantly reducing how often I heat-style, my curls have slowly begun to bounce back. But what I couldn’t understand was: Why wasn’t I getting the definition I knew my natural curls were capable of forming? It turns out Dominican curly hair blogger, Farah Pink – had the answer.

You’d be surprised how much of a difference a good styling product can make when it comes to getting your curls to look their best. For months, I had sworn by this lightweight, foam mousse product that was giving my hair amazing volume, reducing frizz, and leaving my curls silky soft. I stayed the hell away from gels, out of fear of them leaving me with crunchy, stringy curly hair – much like the Raman noodle rizos everyone rocked back in the 90s and early 2000s. Remember that?

But anyone who follows Farah Pink on Instagram, knows that the blogger and influencer knows a thing or two about curly hair products. She went through her own heat-damage struggle and natural hair journey and was able to eventually bring her natural curls back to life.

These days she rocks a head full of healthy, ultra-defined, bouncy curls and this past summer she shared one of the styling products she swears by on InstaStory. It’s the Camille Rose Curl Maker and buying this product was hands down one of the best hair decisions I have ever made in my life – no exaggeration.

Before trying this life-saving, curl-enhancing jelly, my curls lacked definition. In fact, you could argue that they looked more like waves than curls. A quarter-sized amount of this product instantly transformed my hair. I was finally able to get my hair to curl in ways I didn’t think it could anymore – all without the crunch.

Here’s a picture of my curls shortly after I got my lob cut back in March.

Now here’s a picture of it a few months after. I had cut down significantly on heat-styling.

But now here’s a picture of me with two girlfriends at a curly hair event this summer wearing the Camille Rose Curl Maker. Just look at the difference in terms of definition and my hair was silky soft.

Unfortunately, I don’t take selfies often enough to show how my hair has been looking since. But this is a screenshot of me from an InstaStory video I took this past September, after a few months using this incredible gel. I’m telling you, I literally went from waves to spiral curls and I really have this product to thank for it.

Compared to a lot of the curly hair styling products I was using before, The Camille Rose Curl Maker is not cheap. In fact, it retails at around $22, which for many curly-haired girls might seem pricey. But here’s the thing – it’s worth the price and it also lasts you a while because a little goes a long way. This has literally changed my curl life. No other styling product will be coming near my curls – at least not anytime soon.
