Guess who’s the new Guess girl? Okay, well the headline gives it away BUT there’s a much bigger reason to applaud Jennifer Lopez as the covergirl. First, let us say that J.lo as the queen of its new spring 2018 ad campaign looks stunning and we cannot emphasize that enough. Yes, she always looks beautiful. But we have never seen her as a Guess star, meaning, its signature style: the pinup girl in the black-and-white image. And she captures the essence of the brand incredibly well.
But the most amazing thing about this campaign is that J.Lo is the oldest Guess star ever featured!! The 48-year-old megastar continues break ground left and right. You might not recall this, but J.Lo was the first Latina to ever make $1 million dollars for her title role in Selena, and she hasn’t stopped since.
“When I got the call from Paul Marciano asking me to become the new Guess Girl, I was thrilled and excited to be a part of such an iconic brand that I have loved since I was a teenager,” Lopez said via statement to Billboard. “When I look back at early Guess campaigns through the years, you see all of these beautiful models and iconic images that Paul has created. It is a tremendous compliment to have been selected for Guess’ Spring 2018 campaign.”
Marciano, the co-founder of Guess, said J.Lo is the perfect woman to represent the brand.

“Jennifer Lopez is a GUESS Girl’s dream! She is an accomplished artist; she is iconic and sensual,” Marciano told Billboard. “Jennifer’s impact and influence continues to grow and this campaign celebrates the notion that women get more beautiful and talented as they gain life experience. Her beauty and class shine through this campaign.”
While we know we can’t all emulate the beauty of J.Lo, it’s so refreshing to see a real woman as the star of a campaign because now we might actually buy the clothes.
