Camila Cabello’s New L’Oreal Line Honors Her Cuban Heritage
Camila Cabello is proud of her Cuban roots
Camila Cabello is proud of her Cuban roots. Her hit single “Havana” was everyone’s summer jam last year, dedicated to her home country. She’s been open about her inspiring immigration story and a lot of the struggles her and her family had to endure to get where they are today. And now, the signer who signed on as a L’Oreal Paris Global spokesperson, has collaborated with the brand and just released a gorgeous limited-edition makeup line that’s also inspired by Havana, Cuba.
The collection is actually L’Oreal’s first-ever spokeswoman product collab. It features 14 unique pieces that includes everything from the Havana Sun-Lit Bronzer, Havana Gotta Give Brow, Havana Flash Liner, Havana Lip Dew, and Havana Eye Shadows that come in gorgeous bronzy shades—perfect for summer. Did I mention it comes in adorable tropical packaging too?
“I am extremely proud and excited about the Havana collection,” Cabello said in a press release. “I wanted to create products that not only I would personally wear, but that would work well across various skin tones. For me, looking and feeling my best helps fuel my confidence and I hope to inspire other people to feel the same.”
The collection looks amazing and I’m definitely excited to see that she created products that compliment all women—regardless of skin tone. It’s also interesting to see how much of her Cuban heritage actually does inspire her beauty routine.
“I feel like so much of me comes from my culture. I live in Miami now, and Miami has so much Cuban influence,” she told elle.com. It’s everything from the way the people are, the culture, the food, the tradition, how lively and how warm people are, the music playing in the streets, the heat, people walking around in flip flops and sweaty and just feeling so lively and real. That’s the beauty of it.”
One thing you have to appreciate about Camila is her honesty. She’s been pretty transparent in the past about the obstacles she’s faced living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. And now promoting her new beauty line, she still made it a point to keep it real about her physical insecurities.
“I don’t like the right side of my face, I feel like my face looks different on the right side,” she told elle.com. “Also my teeth—I have really crooked teeth on the bottom. There’s one [tooth] that just juts out when I smile which is not fun. But, whatever, it adds character!”
