I have to admit, that when I first learned Cardi B gave birth to her baby—I was a tad bit annoyed. Selfishly, I wasn’t prepared for it and wanted it to happen when I could afford a few minutes to get hyped, post on social, and text every single one of my girlfriends about it. But alas, that’s not how life works and so I was forced to get over it. Enough about me—let’s get back to Cardi. Her newborn with fiancé Offset has finally arrived and the name they gave her is literally everything.

Cardi announced her baby’s birth with a gorgeous photo of her to Instagram with the caption Kulture Kiari Cephus 07/10/18. First off, she looks like a goddess in this photo posing with her naked pregnancy body, showing off a glow while sitting amongst wild, exotic flowers. I’m feeling it.

Now let’s get to the name. I feel like when it comes to baby names a lot of celebs try WAY too hard to give their kids unique names but Cardi’s doesn’t feel that way at all. I personally love the idea of naming someone Culture and spelling it with a K rather than a C. It’s a cool word with an important and relevant meaning and it just sounds good. I love the middle name even more though—Kiari. Seriously, how pretty is that? I would have probably reversed the order and named her Kiari Kulture but great name either way.

The Beehive is going to hate me for this, but can we just admit that Cardi’s birth announcement pic kind of gives off Beyonce pregnancy announcement vibes? She looks equally as beautiful as Beyonce looked in both her pregnancy and birth announcement pics. There’s just something about seeing gorgeous women of color in this gorgeous, maternal state that really gives off African or Indian—or just brown—goddess of water and fertility vibes. It almost feels as if Cardi tapped into her African and Taino ancestors and turned into this divine being—I love it!

As for the name, it turns out Offset is actually the one that came up with it. Cardi revealed that during an April 19 appearance of the Ellen DeGeneres show. Good job Offset!

Congrats to the happy couple on their new baby. I can’t wait to see pics of their beautiful bundle of joy!
