Cardi B’s ‘Coronavirus Remix’ Is Going Viral & She Plans to Donate Proceeds
Cardi B‘s candidness is the reason for her success
Cardi B‘s candidness is the reason for her success. Her business is all about keeping it real. Whether she’s going off about exuberant taxes that go nowhere, President Donald Trump’s disciple ways, or her nemesis Nicki Minaj, Cardi B explains things in a way we can comprehend. So, when the Bronx rapper let out her true feelings over the coronavirus, we felt that on an honest level.
On March 10, Cardi B took to Instagram to vent about her fears and the confusion surrounding our current pandemic, and in pure Cardi B form, her words are popping on the music charts. DJ iMarkkeyz made a remix of Cardi B’s coronavirus rant after fans tagged him and just like the disease itself, the track is going viral. The DJ is actually known for “remixing” memes and viral clips.
“My first goal was for people to enjoy it,” DJ iMarkkeyz told the NY Times. “My other goal was to show Cardi that she has people who love her to death just by being herself. With all this happening, it shows the impact that Cardi has on everyone all across the world.”
Cardi B, who’s in quarantine just like the rest of us, wants to get back to work, but until then, since her words are spiking on the music charts, the girl wants to get paid as she should.
“The fact that this damn coronavirus song is charting on iTunes. Hold on … let me hit the DJ up and Atlantic so I can get my damn coins,” Cardi B posted on Instagram. She later wrote, “Damn I posted the iTunes chart 2 hours ago of this damn Corona song charting on the hip hop charts at 96 now it’s number 11, 86 on the overall charts .. I’m glad yaaa having fun …..Make sure you lysol your p—y before you POP IT.”
The track itself is pretty dope, so we can see why it’s popular in the club. While we give it up to DJ iMarkkeyz for this creative endeavor during such dire times, we did initially feel like he should have also given some of those earnings to Cardi. We’re all trying to make a buck while working from home! But it looks like he and Cardi may have come to an understanding already.
On Tuesday, DJ iMarkkeyz said on Twitter that he plans on donating the proceeds from the track. Cardi agreed that any money made off of the track will be donated, which is absolutely the right thing to do.
YES !THATS WHAT WE GOING TO DO ! Keep in mind you don’t get your money right away …but even months from now there would be families with financial issues for getting laid off due to the virus .We will Donate ! https://t.co/ehAo8TCUhN

For those of you who’d like a breakdown to that now-famous rant by Cardi more than a week ago – which feels like a lifetime ago already amidst this coronavirus scare, here’s what she said on her Instagram.
“I don’t know what the coronavirus is about, but I’m not going to front, a b***h is scared and it has me panicking,” she said. “Just because you think you’re immune to it guess what? Your pockets ain’t. If you’re wondering why your weave or your Fashion Nova packages haven’t arrived guess what b***h? Coronavirus, coronavirus, s**t is getting real, it’s getting real.”
Spoken like a true queen. Cardi even tweeted that she might even do a music video to the song.
I might eat well do a damn music video 😩😂 https://t.co/C0cjeEuoQY
